Would a Gamespot mod/admin kindly delete my gamespot account thank you, Ive looked in the options for the cancel account option but cant seem to find it.

Mark you name on the 360 on the inside metal in perminent marker before you send it off (you can buy the Microsoft Warrenty stickers off of ebay)

if it comes back without your name, check to see if its been cleaned off (by smell) because you can smell the solvants if they used any!

most of the time you WILL recieve a new 360, because its too much hassle to repair a old 1st batch or 2nd batch 360!

Dont worry about it, unfortunately it happens, i would feel more like killing Microsoft than myself though!

I set my 360's settings on Startup to Disc. This way I press the power button, the game starts and my profile automatically signs in. Also, the game tells me which friends are online. However when I attempt to play online, the game says that I am not connected.

I tried xbox customer service and was put on hold over 10 times and had three different agents. In the end(after 2 hours), the last agent told me that she didn't know what the problem is but I could send it in and pay for it too. When I said no, she said, "well if you are refusing to pay for it, it won't get fixed." She was blaming me for her inability to help me.

Are there any people that are knowledgeable about the xbox's functionality? Or any websites you can point me to?

you need to get in touch with your internet provider not Xbox Support, this has nothing to do what so ever with RROD or Microsoft so thats why there not going to help you or give you a refund! Also today xbox live is down for maintenance so you wont be able to get online anyways!

Sounds like a dodgy plug socket to me! or a lightning strike? the power button probally only gives off about 4volts (just a guesstimate) to switch the thing on and off? thats def not enough to burn your finger unless your fingers made of ice lol

Nope fans dont seem to work either unfortunatlly, its just a design flaw that no one can fix for good! Microsoft is only good at building software, and yes alot of the software they make is awesome! but when it comes to consoles they should have given the design of the console to Sir Richard Branson, now there's a Genius who knows how to run a corperation and give the customer what they want! yes it would have had a Virgin logo somewhere on it but at least it would have lasted!

microsoft fixes it for free if you have the RROD
