Yep. It's a very story-driven game. It's dark and filled with political intrigue and morality is grey. Whatever choice you make there are bad and good consequences. The graphics are fantastic and so is the gameplay. But if you like games with exploration like Oblivion/Skyrim then this is not it.

Also, like it's already been said, Mass Effect is similar in that it's very story driven but the choices you make are clearer and easier...and it's set way in the future so the setting is very different. I love it too but not as much as The Witcher.

I finished playing Siren Blood Curse last week. It's not that great gameplay wise because the controls are awkward but if you're a true fan of horror games you know that horror games always have awkward controls. The story seems to be great, but it's so messed up that you're going to have to play it a few times to figure it out and even then, it's just going to be a theory of what happens. I'm still reading around and am going to play it again to make sense of things. The story is seriously the most weird one I've seen in a game, ever.

That said, the controls are stiff and you have to be stealthy. Fighting more than one at a time will lead to death for sure. I don't know why but I didn't find it as scary as I thought it would be. I played Siren 2 and it was very frightening, but this wasn't as much. There were many times that it was frantic though. And be prepared to sit and think about how you'll pass to the next area, lol. It took me 15 hours to finish it.

Overall, it's a great game IMO, and one of the very few true survival horror games left. I really hope they make a new one.

The other one I can think of is Alone in the Dark: Inferno. I actually liked that game. It had good atmosphere.

Then there's Silent Hill Homecoming and Downpour (which I haven't played yet).

So, that's it for horror on PS3 I think... They just don't make them anymore :(

I see. Well, I did restart it and switched back to the official released one and it still happened. I looked around on google and I found one forum where a guy said to go to the NVidia control panel and under PhysX options set it to the graphic card instead of "auto". I did that and then I started a game and it worked fine. Let's hope it stays that way.

Hello, I'm having a graphics issue and I was hoping someone here knows about it. Today when I started watching a video the screen went black and there was an error message:

"Display Driver NVidia Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 290.36 stopped responding and has successfully recovered"

Since then whenever I try to play a game there are green dots on the screen or it just goes black with "white outlines" on the words...just weird artifacts like that. The game either doesn't respond or just crashes soon. The same happens when I try to watch a video. If it's windowed it works with an occasional green dot, but if I make it full screen there are many dots. I uninstalled the beta driver completely and reinstalled the "older" 285.62. The same happens.

Is this hardware related? My video card is a GTX 560 and it's still under warranty. I haven't had any problems with it before. This is completely out of the blue.

What about polarized glasses instead of the red/blue? Would they be better at reducing the visible red color? The other types are too expensive and 120hz monitors are way too expensive as well so those are not an option.

So I decided to buy a pair of red/cyan glasses (these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002VU0S7M ) and tried them with Nvidia's 3d vision. I tried them on with The Witcher 2 and Crysis 2. The Witcher 2 looks fine with the lowest depth, but Crysis 2 doesn't. You can clearly see the red to the left of the blue, especially on the cursor. If I try to increase the depth then this becomes apparent more and more as I increase it.

I wanted to know why this happens. I read something about 60hz not being good for it. Maybe that's it? My monitor goes up to 60hz. I don't experience any lag. Just that the images don't line up right.

Thanks!

^yea, it said it wasn't optimal, so I changed it back...I just find it weird that it actually allows you to change it in the first place. So, I'm guessing it doesn't really work, right?

Hi, so while tinkering with the settings in the NVidia control panels I found out that you can change the resolution to a custom one, higher than the native resolution. Mine is 1680x1050 but I could change it to 1920x1080. I did that and the monitor informed that it's not "optimal"...that's understandable.

My question is whether the resolution does actually become 1080p or if something else happens. It seems impossible to me that you can just force it. However, when I did change it the icons did become smaller and there was more space like it happens when you increase resolutions. Second, can that damage the monitor's display if it's worth changing? I don't want to risk anything.

Thanks!
