Doom - Started it all (yes wolfenstein was 1st, but doom made the genre)
Goldeneye - the most important console fps, it brought the genre to consoles
Half-Life - proved and fps can have an amazing story, among many other things
Unreal Tournament - the king of online fps multiplayer (counter-strike didnt come until 2 years later)
The 4 most important fps's ever. Halo has no place on this list

I agree with all of those. Except i'd include CS too for its realism, popularity and the accuracy of the damage system. imo it's something that revamped the fps genre.
