Elite 4 (if it ever comes out) is supposedly going to be seeing console release. In case you haven't heard of Elite, it pretty much invented the genre. X was the closest to a successor we've seen. And Frontier: Elite II (And Frontier: First Encounters) still have the largest open-world environment ever put into a game. It's not a sensible plan, but it's possible to fly between star systems without your hyperdrive.
