True there is lesser compatibility in these new Sony PlayStations3s at first as they switch from hardware-based emulation to software-based emulation, although the emulation seems it will be better than the X-Box 360 had at launch. The positives of software emulation include the fact that the software will be updated as time goes on and will be able to update more than the initial 1,000 titles that will be available at the European and Australian launches, just like the Microsoft XBox 360 can now emulate more than 100 titles. The software emulation is also supposed to make for faster and cooler emulation.
