(List copied, and edited from DiscussingFilm on Twitter)

15 - Crash Bandicoot

14 - Solid Snake

13 - Steve

12 - Pikachu

11 - Arthur Morgan

10 - Shadowheart

9 - Kratos

8 - Master Chief

7 - Link

6 - Pac-Man

5 - Sackboy

4 - Sonic

3 - Agent 47

2 - Mario

1 - Lara Croft

...

And the reaction from Twitter is hilarious to me. Like they are AWARE where BAFTA is from right? Of course Nintendo characters weren't going to be number one. Like expecting Master Chief to be on a similar list from Japan.

Participated in two during the Trump administration. Both related to his immigration policies.

@uninspiredcup: But it's the lowest selling in the Doom series, released at a time when gamers and developers were ready to move on.

How hard is this?

Its crazy to see no sonic on the list. Love it or hate it, it still had a big impact in gamin, more than half the games on that list.

Game Informer was always turned on with hate with Sonic, iirc. Same with IGN, who created the "Sonic was never good meme" if @Jag85 is correct and the internet rolled with considering SEGA doesn't have consoles anymore.

Again, not arguing what the game critics tells me or what Nintendo chuds thought at the time, or overall influence or innovation.

Judging games right now. Doom 64 is better, and holds up better than every game you listed.

It is quite simply, a better game.

"Judging games right now" funny, that argument seems to fall apart whenever someone does that about some old games you DO like and others think "aged badly".

Look, I'm glad Doom 64 has gotten some sort of resurgence, but I also get why it got the reputation it did ON launch. More than I do other "resurgences" (translation: revisionism) in entertainment.

And it only seems you like it because it's NOT Nintendo. That's it.

Ocarina of Time was a great game at its release, but it doesn't hold up for me.

It very clearly doesn't hold up. Unless judging this on a first "wow moment" at the time or nostalgia claiming it's the best game ever is lala land.

Seriously, compare something like Doom 64 to this and see what is more playable and holds up better. No excuses like "different genre".

Doom64 aside from easily being the best FPS on the platform (not Goldeneye or Perfect Dark as deluded Nintendo folks claim) is a much better game in general. And it's not even the best Doom game.

Considering the time Doom 64 came out? People were tired of more Doom by that point, which was actually part of the reasons GS themselves initially SLAMMED the game. Every developer, even ID (Quake was born by that point, FFS) was hyped to make the jump.

Is it any wonder why Nintendo 64 fans were more for GE and PD when those games had what Doom 64 lacked? Which included multiplayer that for Doom was ONLY on PC at the time? When Nintendo and Rare were considered the only ones to actually push the N64, due to how many third party devs were bailing on Nintendo (cartridge, Nintendo's overall treatment of them, etc) at the time after Sony approached the majority of them, even though it often excludes some (unless you were Star Wars, mainly Rogue Squadron) of the GOOD third party games that DID make it to 64 (like Gauntlet Legends or Rayman 2).

The CCP have already infiltrated the West with TikTok... The next step: live-action dating sims!

The fact that their state propaganda had the GALL to cite the US constitution says A LOT about that one.

@dimebag667: The same engine that's been a source of criticism in god knows how long? Why not mod games they do like? Isn't that why people love Doom? Isn't that why New Vegas and KOTOR II are loved especially post release with their unfinished states?

Hell, I understand why people mod emu versions of Nintendo games.

Seems dumb to put all that time into a game they'll call garbage, and only play it for that ine tiny thing. Doesn't that just feed into BS like that with Bethesda?

Also, didn't modders give up on Starfield? I even remember a CERTAIN Sony troll making a thread or two on that to shame MS.

This is something I will NEVER understand about this logic with Bethesda. People hate Bethesda's games that much (sans the Doom reboots, Dishonored, Fallout: New Vegas, aka the "Sonic Mania" of Bethesda Fallout, and of course, Morrowind - which I still stand by that has NOT aged all that well), but still play them because of mods.

If you hate a game THAT much, why still fricking play it?

Skyrim is like a sandbox game engine. You can create all kinds of mods that can turn it into a totally different game. If you're really into modding, then Skyrim is tailor made for that. But if you don't care about modding, then Skyrim is a waste of time.

Again, point stands, you hate a game that much, why play it JUST for mods? I think you all influenced paid mods (Creation Club) more than you realize.
