It actually wasn't that bad. Some of the puzzles were kind of meh though, you do have a point. However the combat was fun and quite different from the usual hack n slash found in most action games and the story which starts off kinda weak actually got really good. Also the demo turned off a lot people as it horrible and didn't do the game any justice.
Actually I enjoyed both games very much but KZ2 did have amazing graphics and online is addictive while R2s co op was fun and online was chaotic. So if you have enough money I'd get both. But I went with Killzone (after playing both first) and I was very pleased.
