Sorry for double-posting: Just wanted to say it's the game-makers fault people are able to buy their games used. If the game was great and has a decent amount of replay value, less people would sell it used. It's pretty simple, instead of working with DLC codes to unlock vital gameplay elements, improve your games so that the people who bought it don't want to sell it.

This kind of attitude is a serious barrier for a game-collector. I'm still searching hard to complete my ps1 and N64 collection, and have just 2 more games to go before I'll call my gamecube collection 'complete'. Same for GBA (which is a hard collection to complete, because there are so many pirated cartridges). I really depend on the second-hand market for that. Although I have 80% of the games I want to own on PS3, if I want to complete my collection when the fifth sony console is out (in cases of sleeper hits, games that have increased appreciation over time etc.) - I'll not only be buying an 'incomplete' game, the online pass to unlock this content probably won't even be available at that time.

Why the 3DS sold extremely well despite low gamespot scores? You are really trying to find an explanation concerning the 3DS, aren't you... well, unfortunately - it isn't the 3DS' problem - the problem lies in the reviews. Most reviewers are very jaded right now - which might have something to do with them going to events and playing the games still set to release for 3DS. Reviewers have already seen what the system can do, most consumers haven't. Such consumers think SSFIV looks great on a handheld, as do the nintendogs, pilotwings and rabbids 3D. And in the end, a review is still just an opinion - I also have read, on many of the boards, that more and more complaints are raised on a lack of objective reviews right now. Consumers are less swayed by opinion and reviews, and more by demo units and commercials anyway. Most gamers who know and love the market, buy a lot of games etc. either listen to each other through this interweb community-thingy or just try it out at the store. For myself personally - after playing and thoroughly enjoying several games trashed by reviewers - I tend not to listen to reviews and just go from personal experience instead. Happily playing Samurai Warriors on 3DS right now & signing off.

Both of the systems graphics can't even compare to wii. Wii games are beautiful - most games only come out on wii because ps3 and xbox360 can't handle the graphics. but seriously.... I'm either getting a ps3 or a new TV this month... or both - if I can find a ps3 second hand... preferably one that can still play ps2 games so I can own all final fantasy games due to BC between DS, Wii & PS3 I like the wii, but I just have to play the new resident evil once it comes out, and owning SC4, GTA4, LBP and other great games wouldn't hurt too. I was never a big playstation fan, but come on - free online. All Xbox games can eventually be played free online... you just have to wait for the game to come out on PC. - speaking of which, what is keeping the Halo 3 PC port? I'm just waiting for my christmas bonus to come in and I'm off - in the meantime, I've still got mario, and samus, and link, and trevor touchdown, and some kind of blob with a dutch pronoun.
