2010 - Blog #1

First blog of the year. Hopefully not the only one I bother to do this year.

For this blog, I've decided to go into something about myself I haven't really touched on all that much, but have brought up once or twice over the years. Plus, this year I'm going to try to make my blogs longer than those in the past.

I thought I'd mention some things concerning my aspirations in life, where and what I want to be for example.

I'm planning on becoming an engineer. Have had a great interest in robots since I was 6 or 7, and have been in pursuit of a career in robotics ever since. My studies are progressing well. Over a year in, enjoyed myself so far, quite a few of the subjects I've done have been fun and interesting, some not so much, and after this year, there's maybe another three/three-and-a-half years to go until I'm officially an engineer, granted I do well enough.

Where to after that? Might do some part-time research (concerning my ambition to start my own business) while I work. Drafting (for those not familiar with drafting, it's essentially making 'blueprints') seems to be a great choice, if not the perfect choice, for a job immediately following graduation. I loved my 2D and 3D drafting classes last year and I'd love to continue on with it.

I might delve more into my goals for the future in coming blogs, but I'll end it there for now.

Gaming-wise, this year is a blessing. So many titles, so little money. Have Aliens versus Predator and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 pre-ordered so far, with AvP coming out here (Australia) on Thursday and March couldn't get here any sooner. Sure, AvP got a few bum reviews. Whatever. I'm a nut when it comes to anything Alien or Predator related, and though the scores were not what I had expected, it didn't change my decision and I know I'm not the only one. I only wish I could've pre-ordered earlier so I could get the Hunter Edition with the mouldable Facehugger (which would be awesome to have regardless of cost), but the Survivor Edition is good enough (I'm one of those people willing to get any other edition other than the Standard Edition, if available, and if the game is worth it).

Other than AvP and BC2, Fallout: New Vegas (hopefully no delays), God of War III, Final Fantasy XIII and Versus, Red Dead Redemption and Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening are a few I plan to get.

I will get around to reviving the Terminator Union. Maybe not this week, but within the next month it should be back up.

I guess that's it for this blog. Hope I didn't bore you guys :P

One week 'til Christmas...

...and, like a lot of people, I'm excited (about the presents :P)

First off, getting Bioshock (took me a while to get it...a long while) and Fallout 3 GOTY Edition for PS3, and while I fought temptation, I lost, so I'm also getting Dragon Age: Origins on PS3 (I wanted to get it on PC to get more out of it, but since my PC is a steaming hunk of crap, I felt compelled to get it on a platform I could play it on, rather than wait 'til I build a new PC).

Secondly, I am planning on bringing the Terminator Union back to life, before the year's end. Anyone who isn't a member, but wants to be a part of the Terminator Union, feel free to join.

And lastly, the recurring "Game of the Month" blogs will be back, starting this month, with Dead Space 2.

I'd also be interested to know what everyone else is getting for Christmas, if you know what you're getting; or doing over this holiday season, if you don't celebrate Christmas.

Finally got my Bad Company 2 beta key!

It's about time. Chances are, though, that I can get yet another one from my pre-order, as well :P

GS AU finally started giving away keys, and managed to nab one up!

So, for all those already playing, see you on the battlefield

2 Beta Key Giveaways I Can't Take Part In...

Ok, first of all, my first blog in quite a while. YAY? No, no YAY...Too bad I'm quite annoyed at the moment.

Why? Well, two of my three definite buys for next March are having beta key giveaways. Should be a good thing, right? Well, it would be if I were able to get any beta keys.

The C&C4 Beta Key Giveaway

Only available to Total Access members. Not too surprised about that, but it's still damn annoying when a beta that I'd love to participate in is only available to subscribers.

Plus, I missed competitions on the C&C4 site to win a key. Doubt there'll be another opportunity.

The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Beta Key Giveaway

At the moment, the only way to get a beta key is if I lived in NA or EU. This beta is what I've been waiting for, and Australia doesn't get anything.

All I know is, that keys are only available from North American pre-orders, and the beta key giveaway here on GS is only for the US. If there's anything more frustrating than this, I don't know of it.

I guess my only option, for now, is to pre-order both and see if I can get a key for either, if not both.

Alright, down to 4 charter members, now...

Well, for some reason, viveck and skyy can't, cos it says they're in/affiliated with 30 unions, but it doesn't look like they are.

And ss4broly has accepted a charter member position in the last 30 days.

Still going ahead with the other 4 guys, and I'll have to invite skyy, viveck and ss4broly when the union is up and running.

The Terminator Union

Well, I'm thinking about getting the band back together...

OK, no, I'm not, but I'm thinking about starting yet another union, hopefully more successful than my last.

As you can tell, it's "The Terminator Union", and will focus on discussion about the 3 released movies, the upcoming Terminator Salvation and its sequels (if it's successful, which I hope it is), and The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Just making the blog in advance so I can find out who is interested in joining so I can make the preparations for its creation.

One Quick Question...

Is my new blog pic any good? Tried something new out, and not quite sure if I even like how I did it. :|:)

Oh yeah, and 100th blog, too! YAY
