Holly crap!!!! My gaming year is going apocalyptic with this release!! I was massively disappointed with the recent Batman movies. Why couldn't they have been as good as the Arkham trilogy?

Wow. Free Willy.

I just can't get excited about this game after so many years of licking my lips over AC releases. I will be glad when Ubisoft leaves the Americas and takes this game somewhere new. Am I the only AC fan left that thinks the first was the best because it was set in the Medieval period...the correct setting for the 'assassins'? ACII was very good as well. Plenty of scope left with the Moguls in India or any Islamic nation against the west. Plenty of room to give the Muslims the upper hand too, as they did in taking European slaves for hundreds of years in the Mediterranean and English/Irish coastline.

Now there's a setting. North Africa!

What about a modern pirate setting for AC? Ubisoft could have a Somalian pirate character raiding ships, shooting old people on cruises, holding out for million dollar ransoms, and being chased by US naval ships (they are the Templars of course following on from AC:USA).

Personally I would have rather waited for their next big new world game in Asia (Japan I'm sure). Pumping out a game based heavily on the engine and gameplay of AC:USA keeps the fans happy I guess. I really miss the Middle East aspect of crusaiders. The original was the best because it was original - nothing like it was out there. Now Ubisoft seem to be pleasing the majority of fans who wanted the series in America or to play pirates with ships etc, or indeed go to Japan to play non-historical ninjas, instead of creating something truely unique. Thank god for Rockstar studios. Now there is innovative gaming.

Spoiler Alert re: Far Cry 3.....

Apologies if I'm stomping on previous posts noting this...but FC3's Lost Expeditions has an Abstergo link with the Japanese soldier's letters. My money is on Ubisoft hammering out a Japanese setting for AC5 - perhaps medieval Japan or WWII, and using the game engine from AC:USA to punch out a quick Eddie the Pirate game in the mean time. Both AC:USA and FC3 were Montreal produced I believe linking the development of future ACs?

PS: No ninjas for Japan setting!!! They are a 1960s creation, not historic fact.

Cause that is what a forum is for...debate. Just because Munstable doesn't agree with you funky_grof doesn't mean they cannont comment. Suck it up. Not everyone is going to like another AC and that's what this forum is posting on as you will see if you stop trolling and read other people's opinions with an open mind.
