Looks cool, but the most fun thing about Far Cry games has been the shooting and vehicle riding, imo. Therein lies my trepidation.

Looked cool... makes me sad I can't ride that thing all the way to Gondor, Rivendale and the Shire.

@E-Major @mwmars I mean, I can see your point, but I, personally, haven't played all those various iterations. None of them were good enough to warrant my $ and time to finish them, I would think they could round up enough high quality developers that were big fans of Tolkien to pull off one big great game. Anywho, I can still hope Shadow of Mordor is great, sells a bunch and resources can be reinvested in the kind of game I've always wanted :-)

There's nothing about the nemesis system that's intriguing to me. Though this game might be good fun, it's NOT the LotR game I've always wanted. I've longed to spend digital time in Middle Earth, but never reduced to the confines of dark and barren Mordor. The game I want is an all-encompassing third era of Middle Earth, which comprises the story of Bilbo and the dwarves, and all the in-betweens leading up to the hobbits returning to the Shire after the War of the Ring. All based on the original novels. I realize this would be huge in scope (though I would point to the Elder Scrolls series and particularly the Witcher 3), so perhaps it could be released as a one time 59.99 purchase with at least 30-40 or so hours of content, and then subsequent expansions could be released at 20 or 30 dollars a pop or whatever. The point is, I know it's do-able, and I just don't know why it hasn't been done. And don't bother mentioning the Lord of the Rings Online. That is a slug of a two generations old game. And the Lego games needn't be mentioned either. I guess I just don't understand why the Elder Scrolls and Witcher universes, among others, exist so exceptionally in video games, but the most popular fantasy series of all time does not. That's what we want. At least that's what I want, and I THINK that's what most all of us want. Who disagrees?

Most gamers don't play backwards compatible games because they dont have backwards compatible consoles.... it's an ouroborous statistic.

If Biden and his cronies believe that violent video games lead to real world violence (and please bare with my leap here), is he not then implying that real world violence, in the absence of comprehensive gun control reform, is then more acceptable because at least they are receiving more tax dollars for it? In other words, "If video game makers are going to screw up our kids psychologically, I'm okay with it as long as they pay a fine."

Dark Souls was like, "Dead what?..... Oh, yes. That's my department."
