Because it seems to me, if god does exist, god has no control over what happens in our world. So unlike most, believing in god gives me no comfort.

I wonder why the equal protection clause of the 14th hasn't ended this gay marriage argument already?

Well, this analogy might explain. Mac's are to PC's as Console gaming is to PC gaming.

[QUOTE="Snipes_2"][QUOTE="Bourbons3"][QUOTE="Snipes_2"] Well, I do believe there's a little bit of bias in his ruling no?

Did you even read the opposition's arguments? Half their witnesses - the ones that were left, that is - actually agree with the prosecution's case. A deaf-blind judge would rule in favour of overturning Proposition 8. They didn't have a case.

The question is..Do you think the Judge might have been biased because of his Sexuality?

That'd be hard to prove. Everyone has personal opinions but every judge is expected to ignore their personal opinions in ruling cases. So if you could claim this judge was bias you could claim every judge was bias for some specific case.

[QUOTE="wstfld"]Keep the government out of our lives (unless your Gay Hispanic, or non-Christian). theone86

The funny thing is how many Hispanics support Prop 8, there's a huge contigent of Hispanic Catholics that basically got the thing passed. THere's also been a lot of support for Prop 8 within the black community, it never fails to amaze me how people who go through almost identical situations of discrimination are so slow and even opposed to the idea of helping others.

At any rate, I think they should do what they did way back in the day when homosexuals were first fighting for gay rights, they supported the labor unions in exchange for the unions' support in advancing gay rights. Perhaps the opposition to Prop 8 should consider the same type of thing with Hispanics and immigration.

What you said is one of the many reasons why I no longer have much faith in the human race...

I never thought the state was promoting "responsible procreation" in the first place.CRS98
lulz, "responsible procreation" and there are like 19 states that allow you to marry your first cousin XD
