Could the other PS3s fit a larger 9.5mm drive? I feel like this is a good switch. Can easily save a couple bucks with a larger drive instead of a smaller one for laptops.

@llm7676 Hmm, good points. I agree about 3's stealth and replayability. I guess I should clarify about the emphasis on stealth. The consequences of getting caught were so much worse in 1 and 2, even on normal difficulties. #3 definitely had some great tools and methods if you chose stealth, but you were also given a large arsenal of weapons and could easily get through the game by taking a more action-oriented approach. Sure, you could probably get through 1 and 2 with pure action as well, but it'd be a lot more difficult. In 1 and 2, it was stealth or die.

Great analysis, I agree with almost everything. I did enjoy the confined, claustrophobic spaces of MGS2.

I'd say the biggest thing they need to bring to MGS5, going all the way back to MGS1 and 2, is the focus on stealth. It's too easy to escape most situations if you get caught. In the earlier games, causing an alert meant death (or significant ration & ammo loss) more often than not. I think the lack of focus on stealth, and emphasis on weapons in MGS4 (and to a lesser extent MGS3) killed any replay value.

It all sounds good on paper, but I'm not holding my breath. Remember when they said BF3 would have maps the size of 3 Atacama Deserts, and then it turned out it was just a few flags in the middle of nowhere? Hoping this will finally be the sequel to BF2 we've been waiting for, one year later.
