When I saw all the 'perfect' ratings leading up to E3, I was suspicious. But given the caliper of Naughty Dog's prior games, I figured it was worth a buy. I was a little worried when I read the Gamespot review. Unfortunately his review is dead-on accurate. It is a good game which great characters and voice acting, it is beautiful, and it plays well.

However the AI is shockingly bad. The enemies don't react to dead bodies, don't care if you have your flashlight on or off, and teammates flail about constantly shifting positions and being seemingly invisible to the AI. The AI is so bad, that is just blows all the immersion out of the water. I can walk up to a group of guys and choke one to death only 5 feet away from his friends. And the sounds and gasps they make while dying and falling to the floor would certainly attract attention of his comrades. And even during full-on combat, the AI seems to stumble around and get hung up on stuff, do stupid things and die to unlimited bullets fired by your invulernable team mates -- even though your bullets are greatly limited.

They knew how bad the AI was when they shipped it. One can only hope they patch it. Individually these are seemingly minor issues but bundled up, they aggregate into a overly simplified and buggy combat system.
