Don't see anything wrong with it. I'm an atheist and I'm culturally Christian - and I'm proud of it as well.

Haven't seen the new Street Fighter movie but the original was okay for what it was. Don't take it seriously and it will prove quite entertaining - Raul Julia as Bison makes the movie for me. As for the Hitman movie, as somebody who has completed all of the games: honestly, I thought it was quite good. Better than the original Street Fighter movie. Just don't take it too seriously and appreciate the fact that the video game series is coming to life. It implemented lots of stuff from the games - like the SF movie did. I also really enjoy the RE movies as well. First MK movie was brilliant - didn't really like the second one. Haven't seen the Tekken movie yet.

Good. Really hope Congress follows the British Parliament on this. Another war is the last thing we need - especially whenever Obama said he would be more interested in socioeconomic concerns at home.

from what i could gather, there was really no reasoning to not let people be cured of diseases rather than selfishness mrmusicman247
That doesn't really bother me - okay with free healthcare for all. But yeah, it's never really explained why the people on Earth aren't just allowed to even use the facilities on Elysium or transport those health devices to Earth. Costs? Limited technology? Don't think profits alone explain this - as it'd be more profitable to have a healthy society than an unhealthy one, even for the establishment. Although, surprisingly, those devices weren't able to save Damon.

Saw this last night. Wasn't impressed. Might be because I don't sympathise with the cause and thought the ending was sad rather than happy. Didn't think it was plausible that three men could launch a seemingly quite successful rebellion in HQ? Where were the robots? And the ending was surely tragic rather than a happy one. Elysium was created because of overpopulation and disease. It was an idyllic place because it was free from these problems. Now that anyone and everyone is allowed in, you essentially end up with the same set of problems you started out with and eliminate the whole point of Elysium. It will no longer be that place everyone aspires to, and will essentially be as doomed as earth is. Would have been interesting if the movie had expanded on the ideas and concepts it teased viewers with. And even what would become of Elysium now that it is no longer a utopia. Good thinking, but bad execution I think.

[QUOTE="michaelP4"][QUOTE="EJ902"]Regardless of the truth I don't want to see my country (uk) get involved. I don't see why it is our business or what we would stand to gain. Given that our armed forces are overstretched it seems foolish to wrap them up in another engagement. Honestly the more this conflict goes on, the more I think what's best for the syrian people is a return to stability under assad. Now that he's spent years shooting his own people though I don't see that happening. Especially if he has used chemical weapons.deeliman
I didn't know you were British - your sig and avatar says otherwise. :P But yes, I fear for the Tories on this. If they mess up, UKIP will have a field day at the next election... and we all know that means Labour will get in. Please Prime Minister, don't make the same mistake Blair made.

Lol, imagine the damage done to British international relations if UKIP ever get's elected.

Thankfully they haven't a chance. But Labour does. :o

Very interesting situation indeed, but I'll have to ask you to make use of the two threads we already have on Syria. Thanks. :)

Sounds like an intervention of some sort is coming up. Honestly think it is the worst thing you could do. We have no right to get involved and we'll probably make it worse anyway. We haven't learnt from Iraq.
