@jg4xchamp: Oh someone asked about exotic items. Just giving them info.

I know, I just think it's odd that you are restricted from having a full set of exotics equipped.

I find it odd they capped how much you can grind points and heroic strikes after 20. Alot of really weird design decisions that seem designed to string players out, kind of like the rest mechanic from the original FF14.

Got to 20, beat the game, still no idea who these people were yelling at me to kill other people.

It's pretty rare for a game I really enjoy to get such mediocre reviews (last one was Too Human). Not that I necessarily disagree with the complaints, it just doesn't bother me as much. In fact, a lot of the complaints I see are similar to how I felt playing Borderlands. But that was a hit.

Hopefully this mess turns into a positive thing for the game. I would love continued support from Bungie and a strong community backing it.

Guess I'm on the same page. I don't disagree with many complaints, i'm just having more fun I guess

I agree. I seriously enjoy this game. The criticisms are valid, but a 6 seems to imply a broken game.

Well to me broken is like 3 and below. 6 is a fair score as this site says. 60% is more than half way to 100. Its an above average game, that I personally call good.

Going by how classes are graded, a 60% implies failure. The US doesn't score like the UK does, we don't use the whole range.

from now on there needs to be consistency and i mean there is no way in hell halo 4 should be getting a 9 and destiny a 6. both are equally as shi, in fact halo 4 might actually be worse

Eh, Halo 4 is pretty lousy from a narrative (though Halo always was) and some of the changes it did to Halo MP, but honestly I'd still say Halo 4 is better than this. The core Halo MP stuff was still fun in BTB, it had custom games, it had actual features like being able to communicate with your teammate, the campaign wasn't a grind, and it actually had things to space out its repetitive combat encounters in vehicle segments.

Plus with some balance updates and in the right playlists where they turned certain things off the game was pretty solid, if nowhere near the highs of Halo PC or Halo 2.

It's got similar shit though, random shit that fucks with balance, vanilla and forgetable maps. But nothing as aggressively stupid as like Isolation in Halo 3 or something.

i just hate halo with a passion, the whole campaign consisted of 'plug cortana into this computer' missions and the enviroment was the same bland grey stuff carried over from halo forge. multiplayer wise btb was ok/pretty good, 4 vs 4 was dreadful because the maps were horrible. destiny im not even going to buy after playing the beta

I think Destiny would have easily been a 9/10 if they got Arya Stark to voice Ghost.

Thats like the first freaking thing I did.

LMAO all these lemmings salty they're still lumbered with the mediocre 343i. Looks like the over-hyped, over-reviewed Titanflop had the effect of making people more sceptical of games down the line.

Thanks a lot, Sony.

MS alienating Bungie by trying to turn them into a Halo factory isn't the same as a marketing deal Sony and Activision arranged.

Thats not fair, it should say Bungee+Activision. May as well make a chart for Infinity Ward being ruined by Microsoft.

I absolutely hated Killzone SF. Haven't touched it since the day I bought it after being completely disgusted by the stupidity of the story. Also hated BF3 for the exact same reason, stopped at the jet level. Disliked BF4 also because the characters, but I managed to finish it and CoD Ghosts. I almost get the feeling they placed this game after the golden age war out of laziness just so they didn't have to build glorious cities and technology. They wanted nice easy to design empty ruined landscapes and salvaged old tech with few distinguishing features to remind you you're in the same place you were earlier. Even with those problems I am having a blast with the game, might be the most fun I've had with a current next gen game on PS4.

I don't. Though I am one of those "suckers" who bought Destiny day one reviews nowhere to be seen. I don't regret it. The game didn't absolve me of my sins, but it has been a pretty fun ride up to 17. I think I might be 2 missions away from the end of the story mode though, so we'll see if I still feel that way then.

It had some great upfront sales but as of right now I just do not see the fanbase having the longevity for this 10 year plan they have been talking about.

Ignorance is a bliss

They want Destiny as a franchise to last 10 years, not the game.

Well no kidding but fact is it sounds like a boring repetitive turd. Hell the faults were obvious in the beta. I am guessing a large portion of the fanbase will not stick around long. Sure some will but not the numbers needed for this 10 year plan. People are not going to keep grinding for gear for a game with so little depth. Maybe if it was massive like a real mmo but it is not like that. Also when it comes time to preorder the next one people are not going to buy into the hype.

People grind gear not for the story, they grind/get gear to GEAR out their character unless they are lore/story nerds.

Destiny blows at telling story and so does the lack of a chat system which are Destiny's biggest two faults, everything else is nit picking and can be found in other fps. If Destiny had more explosions, people yelling "Fuck yeah MURICA!!" while disarming a bomb with a annual release, this game would have gotten 8's and 9's.

Did they really do that much better of a job telling Halo's story? Most of the lore isn't even in Halo, its in the books, then they have the balls to expect everyone to have read the book and know why things are happening.
