(Spoilers!) Twisted Infinity is a Lot of Fun!

I have just finished my second play-through on 1999 mode. On this setting the game has some set-pieces which are incredibly tough until you find the correct strategy to overcome them. On normal settin...

A Playable Tech Demo Giving a Cursory Nod to a Storyline

I am really disappointed with this game, after having immensely enjoyed both Crysis and Crysis 2. This really is very mundane gaming. Yes, it looks incredible, but there are no stand-out set-piece bat...

    Good Ideas Poorly Executed.

    Dead Space 3

    Good Ideas Poorly Executed.

Sorry - spoilers ahead. Don't read if you don't want to know about the story. As a huge fan of the first two games I had learned to expect the unexpected from the series. However, I did not expect ...

A Psychologically Gruesome, Beautifully Disturbing Ride to the Depths of Isaac's Soul.

    Dead Space 2

A Psychologically Gruesome, Beautifully Disturbing Ride to the Depths of Isaac's Soul.

I only play games for the single-player campaign, and after being thrilled, scared and shaken by Isaac's trials in the first game, I had high hopes for this sequel. Although I was initially underwhelm...

Muddled storyline, repetitive missions and buggy controls ruin a beautiful adventure

    Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

Muddled storyline, repetitive missions and buggy controls ruin a beautiful adventure

ACII was wondrous, so immersive and bewitching that I stayed with it until I finished 100% of its achievements. More than a year later it was exciting to take on the role of Ezio again, but unfort...

Great-looking fun game that could have been so much more.

    Crysis 2

    Rated on June 24, 2011 by matiancai74

Great-looking fun game that could have been so much more.

I have just finished playing this through for the second time - after a long break from it I could even contemplate playing it a third time, if that tells you anything about this game's replay value. ...

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter

    Rated on December 28, 2010 by matiancai74

Great on X-Box, shocking on PC.

I am a fan of Tom Clancy games on the Xbox 360. GRAW and Rainbow Six Vegas are great (but very tough) games. I beat both games on the hardest dificulty setting on this console. This game was superb...

    Surprisingly good fun!

    Shadow Complex

    Rated on December 31, 2009 by matiancai74

    Surprisingly good fun!

For a downloadable game this is really something. It has a lot of replay value, in that not only is the campaign interesting (and frustrating too !) but the challenge rooms which are played outside of...

A great story, with hidden depth.

    Batman: Arkham Asylum

    Rated on December 12, 2009 by matiancai74

A great story, with hidden depth.

This is an ambitious game, which the developers have pulled off very well. I love the gadgets, swinging around the gargoyles, using the inverted takedowns, fighting off a dozen grunts at the same time...

Video Game Equivalent of a Michael Bay Film

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

    Rated on December 02, 2009 by matiancai74

Video Game Equivalent of a Michael Bay Film

Really great graphics, but no real improvement on the first game there. Totally incoherent and muddled storyline to the campaign. A lot of brainless Gun and Run nonsense. Probably good for people ...

A Masterpiece that wil take over your life!

    Fallout 3

    Rated on November 07, 2009 by matiancai74

A Masterpiece that wil take over your life!

Quite simply the best game of the last year. Its only negative point would be the very strange 3rd-person camera angle - don't believe the creators' claims that it can be played in first and third per...

    Gears of War 2

    Rated on November 07, 2009 by matiancai74

Bigger, Louder, More adventurous, not always necessarily better.

The campaign loses some of the intimacy and immediacy of the first game, but makes up for it with spectacular set-pieces and outstanding visuals and audio. The cover mechanics are largely fixed. Th...

    Grand Theft Auto IV

    Rated on November 07, 2009 by matiancai74

Well over-rated. Avoid if you have a brain.

Bought it because I believed the hype, and this is what I found: Very poor graphics, pointless storyline. Jerky camera angle. Terrible gameplay. The game has no reasonable justification. I play a l...
