It's ironic that people defend the 360, but when it breaks, it's a whole new story.

Does anyone know what the black IC chip on the top left does, right below the ethernet connector?  It's the long fat black one.

http://www.anandtech.com/systems/showdoc.aspx?i=2611

It's the first picture of the whole mobo.

The initials on it say ICS.

While my Xbox was on, flames shot out of that IC, and now there's a scorch mark on it, probably where my 3 ROD appeared.

hey, when my brother already voided the warranty and gave it to me to send back to M$, ha, i'm keeping it and building my female android with it!

Anyways, i'm gonna attempt a repair since dumb bro voided it, apparently he took a hair dryer to it, to melt something.  It's just like taking a vacumn to a computer, static electricity, and bam, a new door stop.

thanks, got it to turn off without frying myself.  Three rings of death. 3, then 2, 2.

I'm just glad it powers on, considering how many times i've manhandled it, bare hands on motherboard and stuff.

I'm currently troubleshooting my 360, and is there anyway to turn it on without a controller?

The reason i stopped buying PC games is because my computer cannot run todays games.  I dunno how much times other people buy a new computer, but most people are not willing to spend $500 minimum, on a desktop.

To get in modern PC gaming, you will have to spend about $1000 dollars, mainly because of the more expensive computer parts.  A stick of DDR2 Ram is even more expensive than most CPU's today, like a 2 Gig kit costing$100-150 dollars.  Then there is the ever increasing price ceilings of video cards, and you have an environment where everything is being more expensive.  $500 for a video card used to be extreme, now its $800.

PC gaming, while fun, is becoming a niche market, mainly because the cost of such a system is making it a luxury.

The warranty void is just a legal maneuver for M$ to cover itself.  The Xbox 360 is a product, like Firestone tires, or the Ford Pinto, or anyother product that had an inherent flaw in it, and such warranties are useless because the product is already broken.

After dealing with a busted Xbox 360 in 5 months and voiding the warranty and trying to fix it, nothing irked me more than finding out that M$ was extending the warranty to one year in an attempt to cover for itself.

A shoddy poorly made product should be recalled, no matter what.  We customers have the power, because after paying over $300 dollars for a system and having it broke in months is not acceptable.

Here's a link to an online petition that is trying to recall the Xbox 360's, so spread the word, and help us deal with this ripoff.

Aliens Vs Predator 2-The Marine Campaign, that first stage was scary as heck, even without Aliens in it.

The scariest level would be when Frosty tries to rescue that one girl, and then all the Aliens come out of the woodwork, and you have to make a mad dash to your APC.
