And that's it. Devil May Cry 4 is still excellent stuff – thoroughly entertaining, mostly well paced, despite the on-off-on battles. While there are definitely some issues to be worked through if there's a DMC5 on the cards (and come on, this probably isn't the end), the storytelling is worth the trip, the combat remains fun, and there are two major features that we can't even mention that also go a good way towards making you want to replay each level and try for the best letter ranking possible. Nero, Dante, swords, guns, jiggling breasts and a whole lot of fun in between; dig in.

8.5 Presentation
A natural evolution from previous games, the menus guide you through skills and upgrades while the game has a cohesive look throughout.

9.0 Graphics
Wonderous and consistent, it makes the PS3 sing. It's only let down by strange shadow rendering and a slightly dodgy camera system.

8.0 Sound
Some of the better voice-acting around, but definitely still hokey. Musically, it's very similar to past efforts during intense moments, and the ****cal score is excellent.

9.0 Gameplay
Tight, tight, tight. The combat is at the top of its game in number four, reminding us of why there are so many imitators.

8.0 Lasting Appeal
The adventure will take you a good 15 hours on the first run through, though there are secret extras we can't talk about that will bump it up further. Shhhhh.

FINAL: not an average
8.8/10

*I wonder why it's okay for ign Australia but not IGN Main to post a review

There still isn't any Western or Japanese reviews for the game, but Australia is quick out the gate.

http://www.xboxworld.com.au/games/xbox-360/devil-may-cry-4/review.htm

+Sublime Gameplay
+Solid Narrative/Story
+Dante's one-liners

-some backtracking
-some camera issues

9/10

Devil May Cry 4 is everything a hack-and-slash should be and then some. Sadly it falters with repeated level design and a moderately troublesome camera; but in the grand scheme of things, these are only minor flaws. Devil May Cry 4 delivers an experience that is second to none on Xbox 360, so far. Held together by a solid narrative, it makes your blood boil with every fight you encounter. It's a great title, pick it up...I'd even go as far as to say this is the best Devil May Cry yet.

Review done by Brodie Gibbson. All Other reviews by him:

Devil May Cry 4: 90/100

Halo 3 : 88/100

NBA Live 08: 80/100

Fifa 08: 70/100

Timeshift: 70/100

Conan: 61/100

Nintey Nine Nights : 41/100

Bulletwitch : 40/100
