Journey also got game of the year from Gamespot and it is barely a game, I didn't see many people complaining about it.

I don't have the ps3 version so I can't tell you if it is better. Anyway, I didn't install any mods and the game looks great to me and runs really smooth (although it's locked on 30fps). If I remember correctly the resolution of the game on my laptop is 1366x768. The only annoying thing is the online pass every time you start the game which forces you to use GFWL, so when I tried to play the game offline it didn't save my progress.

I'm also from Israel and I had the same problem, I just bought the physical copy of Dark Souls and I have no problem.
