I thought of a really good idea for those have games that are scratched

and still wanna play them but can't .. well when the new dashboard comes out

bowwrow a friends or rent a copy of the same game that you OWN then install the game on the 360 then used your scratched disk for the owner ship part

then give your friend back the game / give back the rented game

then you got a working game! .. and you own it! .. .. hope this works .. and hope this helps people.

Edit: Will Save you money too! .. In stead of buying a new game! WOO!

That probably won't work if the disc is so bad that it is unreadable.

But if it is slightly scratched, in that it will not play certain levels ect. it should work.

Just as long as the xbox reckognises that the disc is of the game you want to play.

Or you could just look after your discs?..... no just kidding, that takes effort!

I only wrote it on there because it said specificly to write the return adress and service id. even though my adress was was already on the shipping label.

and i'm not really tht bothered about wasting xbl because i already payed for a year. Some points would be nice though.

They use to but lately they have been giving people an option of them to send you an empty box, or they email you the shipping tag and you provide your on box. KR6716

They emailed me the shipping tag aswell

My 360 died the other day so i ordered the repair on xbox.com. and i don't have any packaging to send it in with. are microsoft sending me a box through ups? do they always send you one? i got a ups tracking order 1Z5W33F99167693774. but they haven't actually specificly said they have sent me one. This is all they've said about sending me shipping box in an email:

Where you receive a pre-paid shipping box

· You will receive an empty shipping box with further instructions included in the package.
