You're biased obviously, you're simply just not used to the PS3 while obviously, used to the 360. Since you've spent more time with it. It's not very complicated at all. Account Management, Triangle, X, X = now you're done, takes about five second at most. It's pretty common knowledge to me, sign out and now sign in to get the window to pop up.

Jease. It's difficult talking to ps3 fanboys. You're suggestion isn't common knowledge. You don't do that to find out what you're email address is. It's just a way of finding out your email address. It's a loop-hole. And no, that really isn't common sense. On Live, even people like yourselves who have never been on Live before, can find the tab to obtain such information. That's what common sense is. And I'm not biased, I'm honest. I hate people who bash Live when they've clearly never spent more than 2 minutes on it. They complain about it being less than $5 a month. But when you spend enough time on both networks you realize which one is a 'paid' service and which one is free. I'm not going to change any of your minds so I'll just drop it. It was my fault I couldn't remember what password and email I used. However, it shouldn't be that damn complicated to find out what your email address is. There should be a tab that displays your personal information. You shouldn't need a password to access it unless you want their to be a password. It's stupid. There's really no defense for it. Thanks to those who tried to help.

Not really a denial as opposed simply stating the truth, but okay: I guess it wouldn't be considered common knowledge for a guy who barely plays his PS3 and forgets his email account.

Might I add that you can do the exact same thing and look up your email in XMB's account management, I just named the alternative. Then again, if you can't even remember something as smple as your own email then there's no trusting you to remember the pw either.

I already stated I forgot my password, which is why I couldn't look it up through XMB's account management. I used a different email and password back then and couldn't remember it. I knew that if I saw my email address I'd remember my password. But you can't just simply look at your email address on the ps3, which is a joke. You have to find loop-holes, lol.

Once again, in xbox Live, it's incredibly simple. I've already explained how to do it. Even someone like yourself can go on there and find it, because on Live it's "common knowledge." It's user friendly. It's organized . . .

Well your not very organized.....besides how can you access account management if you can't sign in?

Coz I have auto sign in enabled. And I'm pretty damn organized, actually. My ps3 mainly collects dust, but I'm trying to get back into it. I needed my email address to remember my password. Once I found it out, I got the password right away. I wanted my address and password, because I wanted to sign in on the LBP website to search stuff. That's pretty much the only reason I wanted it. It wasn't a big deal at all. But then I just became annoyed with how sad it is you can't easily obtain such basic information. But I guess you get what you pay for . . .

You could atleast have described how you did it, i am sure others will search for something similar and then be able to say "Oh liveforever89 thank god for you!" and have themselves recovered. I also remember doing a similar thing except i knew my email but not the password but i use only a handful of passwords on these sorts of things so it was relatively simple for me to try them all.

Good point. I had to go to Internet Connection, disable my connection, and sign back in while offline.

It's as complicated as manually signing in and out of PSN, so not really. Common knowledge really.

No. Not really "common knowledge." "Common knowledge" would be how Live has it set up; you simply go to the Account Management tab and all of your information, including your email address, is right there. If you've never ever been on Live you could figure it out. It's that simple. That's an example of "common knowledge." Let me you an example of what isn't "common knowledge" : having to go to Internet Connection, disabling it, signing out, then trying to sign back in so that the box with your email address and censored password pops up. This isn't really the way that you're suppose to find out what your email address is. This is just a way that you can figure out what it is, which means it isn't "common knowledge." Denial sucks . . .

If you can't remember the password or e-mail I think you'll have to contact Sony and confirm some other info on the account (birthdate, secret question, etc.) and they can tell you what e-mail you have with that name as well as recover the password. lyndonAPI
Yea. I was afraid I'd have to go that route. Does no one else know how to get that box to pop up with your email and censored password??

[QUOTE="lyndonAPI"]SEriously? You have that many e-mail addreses you can't recall what's used for which? ;) Simply done. Go to Account management in the PlayStation Network section of the XMB to Account Information. In here is a section to "change e-mail address". Once you enter your password it will show the current e-mail in the blank. Just use circle to cancel out and avoid making changes.

I saw that, but I don't remember the password. I hadn't turned on my ps3 in over a year and I've been using a new email and password since then. If I see the box with my e-mail address and astericked-out password, then I'd be able to figure it out. But I don't know how to get the box to pop out. Although this is my fault, it's ridiculous how difficult it is. I could find out this information on Live in two seconds. This is so stupid. If anyone knows how to get that box to pop up, then I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
