1) When your pawn is recruited by another person you will see a feedback screen with their user id, ratings and feedback for your pawn. You get a lot more rift points for that.

2) Some are pretty straight forward; the eye is blindness, zzz's are sleep, ball and chain are slow, flames are on fire etc. I have not come accross an index yet but if you have any specific ones I will do my best to explain them.

3) I have done two playthroughs and so far there is only one flying monster that is not confined to a specific area. You will most likely run accross one or two but once you know where they are you can steer clear of them until you are ready to fight them.

4) You can cancel the quest but like the person before me wrote just don't let them die.

5) There are some quests that are time sensitive and must be completed before you take another quest or they will dissapear. In my experience they have only been fetch quests and I do not believe I have missed anything major.

Not a bad choice, being able to cast spells will help you quite a bit. Personally I had a lot of success as an assassin with a mage, a sourcerer and a fighter as my pawns and it was not too bad. Just make sure you have some good equipment for you and your pawn going in...

So i just did the recent system update on my ps3 and now i can't get any sound. I have tried 2 different hdmi cables and multiple games and still nothing. I know its not my speakers, any ideas?

To answer your questions about Lost Odyssey it can be a very long game if you complete all the side tasks and quests. It shouldn't have gotten that bad of a review. It is a fun game but it doesn't do anything new. It uses all of the old Square RPG elements, which for me is a good thing. You can get it for pretty cheap so I would say it is a good purchase.
