They cut corners on the port, sure. I had to force the 1920/1200 resolution via a steam launch command, force vsync in the nvidia panel, lock the FPS to 60 in MSI, and fool around with FXAA (as usual, I suck at FXAA and I'm going to wait until someone puts up their settings on the steam forum).

And the key bindings are in an interesting place. I can see a group of drunk devs at a post-ship company party laughing about how much internet rage they were going to generate by hiding them.

But on the other hand, the game is fun as hell, we paid less for it, and if you have a solid state then you make up the ten minutes it took you to do that^ by the time the first two mind-numbing loading screens on a console are over. I haven't had a single crash either. And apparently there's a patch on the way.

Could be worse.

In addition I've also been adding to the list including such Darksiders 2 bugs as the "can't activate Reaper form" glitch.

Are you using a 360 pad?  I've never run into this problem- you have to press each button at the same time, just so you know.  It doesn't work if you're holding one and then press the other.

Wrong board

andytizer8888

Which board should it go on?

Each version of a game used to have its own forum.  Looks like they're all consolidated now, so this is the right place to put it.

So normally I don't do things like this, but this needs to be said. Anyone thinking about buying Darksiders 2 on PC needs to heavily reconsider their choice. The game just flat out doesn't work. Certain hotkeys (For example, Reaper Form) just don't work, GhsCrysis

Hmm.  That's not true.  Note you have to be level 5 to use it.

there are chess games that have more graphical settings GhsCrysis

That's probably true, except that one of the settings allows you to chane the resolution to 1920x1200 (you have to force this via steam launch command though).  You also have to spend about 3 minutes forcing Vsync and a framerate from (gasp) the control panel and a widely-used and free GPU performance app.

, and there's an absurd number of bugs that seriously interrupt (or completely stop) gameplay. GhsCrysis

Such as?

Because I know that people never accept things as fact without proof, here's a video of a bug in action. So game breaking that I literally can't progress through the game any further then I currently am, because the game just flat out doesn't work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOTb-B2aXNo GhsCrysis

Either update your video drivers, or buy a video card that was made in this century, or, at the very least, one that's compatible with the game's release notes.  What card are you running?

The game is actually pretty good, and I'd recommend it on console, but if you're looking to play it on PC I highly advise against it. If PC is your only choice I'd say just completely avoid this game altogether, because it's just unplayable.GhsCrysis

The game is already better on PC than the 360.  This is especially true if you run applications from a solid state drive, which eliminates all load times.  And it's cheaper.  And a patch is on the way.

I'm sorry you're having problems, but this is nonsense.

p.s. Don't rely on autosaves- save often so that you can restore a previous version in case of a gamebreaker.   And play with a 360 pad.  And you can change your keybindings in your inventory (yeah, that's stupid, I know.)

I'm sorry you're having problems, but I'm running this game at 1920x1200 and it's as smooth as silk.

Yes, I had to force the resolution to 1920x1200 via a Steam launch option command, force Vsync through the Nvidia Control Panel, and- just to be safe- limit the FPS to 60 with MSI Afterburner.

But that all took me 4 minutes.  And since I'm running it from a solid state, there are absolutely no load times, so I'll make that 4 minutes back by the time the 360 loads two maps.  The PC version also costs less.  And a patch is on the way with better options.

The guy in that youtube vid needs to update his drivers or buy a video card that isn't from 1999.  Probably both.

Okay, let me rephrase. Price isn't an issue if it's under 100 dollars. Lol.Alex3796

Right, that was dumb. I use these Klipsch ones, which I like a lot. I mean, they're earbuds, so the sound is never going to be incredble or anything. You might consider getting these Shure ones too- on sale for $80 if you act quickly.

Price really isn't an issue I'm just open to any suggestions.

Alex3796

Well, if you really mean that, then I guess you should get these.

Exactly :| yet he did it.

I somehow doubt that you feel Ronald Reagan should have been impeached for "Operation Urgent Fury", even though there was no congressional authorization there either.

IMPORTANT NOTE: "operation urgent fury" is an excellent euphemism for going to the toilet.

That was a big disappointment for me at the Nintendo conference. I've searched around but can find nothing but news on the japanese sequel- has an english counterpart been announced/cancelled/intercepted by warlords?
