Congrats on your purchase. Forget about the pokeman games there not that great but you should try rocketslime its a square enix game and its a dragon quest spin off which makes it awesome also ff 3 is pretty good. You can also try magical Starsign is another good one and for a first person type of rpg dungeon hack and slash go with deep labyrinth even though it got kinda bad reviews it was still pretty awesome.
The DS Lite is a great piece of hardware and it is made very well even though it seems very flimsy but hey drop a psp and then drop a ds lite bet you the ds wins. I had the old model and i think this model is way better and hey now it doesnt look like a giant clam shell anymore.lol
