I like how GS gave it a bad score so now everybody assumes its one of the crappiest Wii games. Have we not learned never to trust GS yet?TheColbert

This is like a verse of poetry.

The Conduit never looked good to me. I never hyped the game. Now it got released and recieved 6.5 from GS. Everyone assume it's a bad game? Well, they really should. From what I've seen, it's more like everyone assume GS is biased. Incredibly silly, if you ask me, and it annoys me to death.

I played the game, and the GS review is pretty much spot on (so far). IGN are the ones who are biased. The Conduit is a lame game, but it's on the Wii. IGN seems to think that's an excuse.

No, GS is not a very good site for Wii coverage in general. I find it funny that people who set out to hate this game from the begining are using the GS review as the almighty decider of this game being bad. Look at the reviews overall, look at sites that are more invested in the Wii. I am not saying they are biased, I am just saying they seem completely out of touch with the Wii and its audience. IGN is not biased either, what in their review suggests they are biased? They mentioned legitimate complaints and legitimate merits.

I don't think anyone would have bothered with it if it wasn't hyped - the reason why it was in the spot light was because of the random hype it got from IGN and people who said it was visually impressive for the Wii.

Ya, but those others bothered with it in light of the hype because they actually thought that it looked good and they were excited for it. You bothered with it in light of the hype because you wanted more ammunition for your arguments.

Don't you see how crazy that is? You quite literally spent money so that you could argue online. You're paying to have a word fight with "ridiculous" people. And you're not going to convince them that it's bad, especially since you're not a fan of FPS to begin with.

The only reason I'm bugging you about this is because you said you need to save up money for LKS, which is why you can't buy DoD. But then, there you go wasting money on a game that you had no chance of enjoying.

And that makes you a hypocrite. You complain about others lavishing attention on The Conduit and spending their money on it while ignoring the original and unique Wii titles out there. And what do you do? You lavish your attention on The Conduit in endless discussions on this forum and spend your money on it while ignoring an original and unique Wii title.

So tell me again, what is the point of arguing with "ridiculous" people who are big fans of The Conduit? To change their mind? To get them to see the other good games out there? Kind of a self-defeating goal, isn't it. ;)

Which I initially thought you were going to do. Playing a game to hate on it so you can complain on the internet is a good sign you need to rethink WHY you play games in the first place.

You know I would love to see Nintendo find a way to get 2 Balance Board running on one Wii. Anybody know the limitations on Bluetooth? Isn't it like 7 connections?

I said hunters was crap because it wasn't anything like a Metroid game. The single player campaign was terrible and the multiplayer was the main draw - it didn't at all have anything that felt like 'Metroid' in it.

The MP in Prime 2 was just an added on thing because they listed to complaints from the first game/tried to be like Halo - when the comparisions should've never been made in the first place. The main problem with adding MP and SP experiences to a game is that it takes time to develop both - which could ultimately mean one of the modes suffering, which usually is single player - not saying its impossible to have both good MP and SP, but that rarely happens.

Haziqonfire

TL;DR version: He said Hunters was crap because he's wrong. :P

Hunters was crap, as a Metroid game - if it was a game that didn't have the Metroid name attached to it I would say it was good - but the single player still sucks.

That is a terrible reason for it to suck. The game was still very good. Its definitely a negative to be so far removed from the other Metroid games, but you simply cannot ignore how well done the multiplayer was and still having a competent single player.

GTA is a million selling franchise and it has multiple fans, including game reviewers who usually underrate Wii games (you know who hehe), so if there was an episode on the Wii i guess noone should complain, either you personally like GTA or not.

I usually play GTA titles on the PC because of the improved graphics and controls but if one comes to the Wii i'll have no doubt going for it, the Wiimote sure will give it a new feel: driving, aiming, minigames and maybe MotionPlus Katana for melee sounds great to me :).

But speaking about GTA4. Did you know that when other companies saw its release date they delayed their games not to coincide with it? The only game that was also released in the same time was Mario Kart Wii because nintendo felt they had different target audiences. Mario Kart actually sold more than GTA on the X360 + PS3 (Pc version was only released much later)

Itsthetruth
Not only is Mario Kart Wii a totally different game, but it has nothing to fear. The game is selling more than GTA (PS3 and 360 combined). GTA IV on 360 and PS3 has sold 12.76 million and Mario Kart Wii on a single platform has sold 16.32 million.

[QUOTE="kardine"][QUOTE="OreoMilkshake"]The DS version sold like crap.KurodaMurasaki

No it did not. It is selling like a DS game not GTAIV.

It's selling like just another DS game and not a GTA game.

Why else do you think it's being brought to the PSP?

It doesn't matter what Rockstar says to the public, the reason is because of the terrible sales.

I have a feeling a GTA on Wii would be bad.

It would be scaled down. Sure it worked for Chinatown Wars, but that was a handheld and had top-down graphics. If the same happened for the Wii I don't think it would be very well received. There were the PSP games, but again they were handhelds.

Unless Rockstar proves me wrong, that's fine too.

Its selling like a DS game that is successful. I never said it was a breakout success or exactly what Rockstar wanted, but it is not doing terrible. It is easily on its way to sell over a million.

Rockstar has even said that theyplan on making more GTA games on DS and are even now considering the Wii. They would not be saying that if it did terrible. Its going to the PSP because it did not sell as well as they wanted, but it did not sell bad. They have ported over all the PS2 games to Xbox and PSP. Its not uncommon for them to do it for DS to PSP.

I think the reason why it did not sell like a regular GTA game is that Nintendo has barely ever seen a GTA game, there is no audience for it. A think a Wii version would be much easier recognized by long term GTA fans and new people to the series. It was also isometric so people probably drew the wrong conclusions.

With GTA: CW here its clear that Rockstar has the talent to make a GTA game on any system with little to no compromises. They used the strengths of the DS and did change up the GTA formula like so many developers think they have to do on the DS and Wii. If they made a game on Wii, I would expect meaningful motions and IR (esp. while aiming in the car), I would expect the Weather Channel to be used, online play, a visual style that plays to the Wii's strengths but also does not alienate long time GTA fans, and a new twist to the game perhaps one that is more inviting to the new casual gamer.

The Conduit is much better than CoD: WaW, Im sorry if that bothers you. Its a different story if you compare CoD: WaW (360) to The Conduit.

[QUOTE="kardine"][QUOTE="Kcdragon8116"]LKS got a better score than The Conduit. I'm surprised, but I expected nothing less. I probably won't get LKS though, strategy games are not my fortei. Pierst179

I wasn't surprised at all. Saw it coming for miles.

Me too. I don't want to start an argument over which one is better but LKS originality made me sure it would outscore The Conduit.

It does not reflect my personal views of either game but I totally understand why LKS would score higher than The Conduit. And I am not saying The Conduit is better than LKS.

Actually Rockstar is foolish to leave Wii out in dust with a GTA game. The DS version has already yielded success. There is definitely a way they can do a GTA game on Wii.
