Im interested in getting a ruthless gaming setup like this, what sorta money would you be looking at to build something like this? $5-8000? NZD of course...Skinon
Search all of the parts on pricespy.co.nz if you want to find out. I'm guessing around 7k NZD

I play with a controller too. Like most multiplats these days the controls are the same as the xbox version without any configuring. I would also have to say the PC Police Squad sound like total dicks

It depends on the game. I know that a lot of games give you around a 90% increase with the radeon 6000 series. 30% sounds really low. I think it's usually a lot higher than that

What no 2x2 isn't 4 in your world?

You do understand that simple arithmatic doesn't always apply to everything always?

No 2 2GHz processors are not the same thing as 1 4GHz processor

I didn't say that , but a dual core of 2 ghz has 4 ghz of processing power.

Why do you think early amd's dual cores were called 4800+ when it was a 2.4 ghz dual core.

If I remember correctly amds naming scheme compared the power of the Athlons relative to the power of the Pentium 4. So 4800+ meant that the 2.4ghz Athlon was similar in power to a 4.8ghz Pentium 4. (per core)

I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to make a playstation 2 controller be recongnised exactly the same as a xbox 360 controller?

I'm having a problem with lag/stuttering in games that are easily getting 60fps. When I'm playing bad company 2 sometimes if I try to use the mouse to turn it won't do anything and then it will turn but stutter and kind of frame tear. Another example is call of duty 4- Very often the mouse becomes a bit unresponsive and the game stutters a lot.

My specs are

Core 2 quad 2.66ghz - Same problem if I have it overclocked to 3.2ghz or if I have it stock. Zalan cnps9700 cooler

4gb ram

Radeon 5870 - Upgraded yesterday. Same problem when I had my gtx 280 yesterday

Gigabyte EP43T-UD3l Motherboard

Cooler Master GX-750 PSU

Please help me if you have any ideas!!

Thanks for looking

Your router and isp I think uses nat to convert the private 192 address to the 75 public one for use on the internet
