[QUOTE="evildead6789"][QUOTE="Elann2008"] Touche. I had the cousin CPU, e8500. That CPU was kickin' ass for a long time. Was able to play Crysis with decent framerates. hartsickdiscipl

This thread has nothing to do with the e8400 lol

What do you mean?  The E8400 is all you need!  :P

I would get a Lenovo Y400 or Y500 instead of that in all honesty.. sSubZerOo
I'm no real tech geek or anything close. But it seems that it's either the same price laptop with a much smaller screen and a worse graphics card (gt650/ gt750 vs gtx660) or 400$ more laptop with a smaller screen and same cards.. Isn't my option for a laptop much better? I'm not sure so I'm sincere in this question. Either way thanks for replying man.

So I'm buying a new gaming laptop. It's refurbished (new would cost 400$ more). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834231045 Any thoughts on the specs? How about the fact that it's refurbished? Also I'm in the army so gonna be moving around the world a lot will I be able to get it fixed if something happens? Or will I need to send it to the stats? Thanks!

Hi there! So I want to overclock my good old e8400 it's running at 3.0 and I would like a modest boost to 3.6. Now all I'm asking is what do I need to look at. I want to stick to my cooler (It's not stock it's got a fan and a huge heat sink attached) But right now I'm running at 43 without load. I'm just not sure what is a lot for cpus. My 4850 is running at 60 70 and that is fine.. So not sure what is fine for the CPU.. Also what is it I'm supposed to look at in the RAM? I've looked around at different guides and all I got was something i need to look at on ram and that the e8400 is easy to oc to 3.6. lol I know it's not much to go on and I don't really want to spend to much time on doing this (I"m getting a new pc in like 4 months) I'm just looking at trying to run Arma 3 better if you know what I mean :) My mobo is a DFI LANPARTY DK X38 4GB of RAM 4850HD 512mb. Thanks for any help!

[QUOTE="MonsieurX"][QUOTE="jojocomeand"][QUOTE="MonsieurX"] Well the 7970m is way better than the 7870m. But the cpu(A10) sucks

I see.. So do you know where I could find a i7 with a good card? Preferably ATI :D Reason I'd prefer ATI is I feel I get more for my money you know? I just feel that Nvidia is like first calls and ATI is couch but the end of the day you get the same result :D I found this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834127876 But again I'd prefer ATI would probably make it 100$ cheaper? Also is that screen going to be big enough? seems kind of small no? I'm totally new to the whole laptop scene.. I'm coming form a pretty nice Desktop and if it were up to me I'd stay with it.. but op clears that up..

GT640 sucks. You'd need at least a 660

ok so how is the 670MX or the 675M Are they good enough? which is better? How do they compare to an ATI card?
