I have been researching on buying a gaming pc for a couple of weeks now and ive decided to build my own. If someone could do a build for me with a budget of $1000 needing everything except a monitor it would be greatly appreciated.

Games I would like to play at max settings if possible (or atleast be able to play without any framrate problems)

could you be more specific, for example the hd7970 theres about 10 different choices and im not really sure what works with what.

Im currently a hardcore console gamer looking to crossover to the pc gaming world. I currently have about $1300 (already have a monitor) to spend on a rig, i would like to be able to play any game out on decent settings. I think im more than capable of building my own but i just recently read an article on gamespot saying its cheaper to buy now than to build so any help is much appreciated.

I was thinking of buying this rig from alienware for $1099.
