[QUOTE="hiho24"][QUOTE="scoobiesnackarf"]No thanks TC. Fact is Nintendo continues to let us know who their main audience is and sorry but its neither you nor me. Their main audience that THEY are catering to is your little sister and brother, your mother and grandmother. Sure they will throw you a bone every now and then with a Mario, a No More Heroes, and a Smash Brothers but they will also continue to relish in their attempt to show young ladies just how fun it is to talk to a magically fake dog while throwing a fake frisby at the screen. They may allow a game like Madworld to be released but their greater focus is on Wii Music and the really REALLY hard core game like Animal Crossing. Nintendo isn't being unfairly attacked since the ammo others are using has been donated to us by Nintendo itself.

Alright? Fine. Sell your Wii then. I'm not saying I agree with everything I'm just tired of this press conference talk. Nintendo will be operating under this new philosophy from now on. You better jump ship now if you are ever going to.
And seriously, I'm not trying to defend Nintendo, but I dont see the huge deal. People should have seen this coming from a mile away, that E3 '08 wasnt going to be some huge Nintendo showing to the hardcore. I dont think we'll see another Nintendo event that will directly cater to the hardcore.
The complaints about Nintendo this year are redundant. Thats why I made this thread.
This isn't about E3. How many times do I have to stress that? This isn't about one game. This isn't even about Nintendo releasing games like Animal Crossing and calling it hardcore. This is about Nintendo STATING that they are no longer going after the core gamer. Their audience is no longer those individuals who brought them to their original glory. Their focus is no longer the fans of games like Ocarina of Time, Castlevania, Link to the Past, Mario 64, etc... their new focus is on people who enjoy petting a virtual dog, throwing a frisby at a virtual animal, and making music with a virtual instrument. That is fine as its up to them, however they need to stop trying to lie to the public and to many of their fans by saying they do care about us when to them, the games we are dying for are games like Wii Music, Animal Crossing, and Wii Sports 2. They have changed their focus and at the same time are trying to placate those of us who have been fans for over two decades by saing they still care about us.

But this IS about E3. The recent bitter reaction towards Nintendo was because of their Conference.
Nintendo has denied that they are forgetting the core gamer. And as I said in my first post, Miyamoto mentioned the development of a Mario, Zelda and Pikmin game. And as I also said, they have multiple divisons and while all of them aren't focused on core games they still have groups dedicated to zelda, mario and other franchise games as they always have.
Its just that they can make Wii Sports in a lot less time than the next Zelda. Hence, why we havent seen it yet.
