It was one of those movies I really looked forward to watch when I was a kid.

Silent Hil 1,
Resident Evil 1 (Original) I was 7
Clock Tower 2, I think.

All of them are PS1 titles maybe it's because games today are not as scary as games from years ago OR maybe I've grown older to be able to take on scary games.

MHF is not like a regular RPG game for the fact that you need to train yourself not the character.... You are training yourself how to beat a Boss monster with your current weapon and so on. There is no leveling in the game. You are only tougher because of special potions and more powerful armors (which in most cases, you make them from Raw material you gather) Furthermore, there is no Story mode, I think.... You basically pick quests after quests after quests beating up more powerful Bosses in the game.... At some point, you probably want to hook up with your friends to beat some monsters.... The learning and the joy of beating monsters with your friends is probably the strongest point in the game.

Therefore, I would say it is NOT easy to pick up at all... You will be looking to spend about 100+ hours into the game.

On the other hand, Phantasy Star is more towards traditional RPG, there is Leveling and there is Story Mode for you to play. (complete with 3 different endings depending on your dialoge). Well, again, you will be picking up Side-missions and do some "Space" crawling on different planets.... You get tons of weapons from Rare drops.... You might enjoy Multiplayer mission, though.... It's pretty cool

Repetitive or not?... I would say both are quite repetitive. =P But MHF really is a very goal-oriented... You kidda have to set goals with things like Armor I wanna, Monsters I wanna beat and such.... Therefore, it can be fun but it needs a lot of dedication on your part.. Phantasy Star, you just keep doing Space crawling.... It's a smooth ride... Too smooth I fell asleep with my PSP on.... Check out the reviews too... Users reviews in particular.
