While the idea behind"B:CW" is a strategic overview of the war, zooming into real time battles when you choose to (so it is not an actual campaign) is good the result is abysmal. A real opportunity to recreate Empire's ... Read Full Review1 of 1 users found the following review helpful
What a mess! There, that's the best intro I can give. I am still struggling to sort this game out, and figure out exactly what it is that Dice were attempting to do with this so-called sequel to "Battlefield 2", which ha... Read Full Review11 of 20 users found the following review helpful
This is one more reason I believe "East India Company" is on it's last legs. This new addition to "EIC", which could have been provided as free DLC for the main game, requires seperate initialisation outside of the main... Read Full Review0 of 0 users found the following review helpful
Okay, so the major beef is the length, or lack there-of with this stand-alone expansion. Nine missions, over three Campaigns (or mini affairs as most, including me would see it). But I wouldn't be wagging fingers at Re... Read Full Review1 of 2 users found the following review helpful
This review will of course fly in the face of popular opinion, but someone has to play Devil's Advocate. I have to say that having played all the TW games since day of their first release, this one has got me a bit sty... Read Full Review18 of 20 users found the following review helpful
This stand-alone package, claimed not to be an expansion to "X3:Reunion" is the conclusion to the X universe story, apparently (tho really it is). Though heralded as more "noob" friendly, don't be fooled. The first coupl... Read Full Review5 of 5 users found the following review helpful
So far I've played through about 4 hours or so and am dreadfully disappointed with Gearbox's latest offering in the oft-regarded "serious shooter's" arsenal. First thing you'll notice, in-game is the colour palette is mu... Read Full Review0 of 0 users found the following review helpful
Okay, so this isn't the perfect FPS game around...but then at present, I don't know what is. I have CRYSIS, CoD4, BioShock, UT3, STALKER and even MoH:AIRBORNE but when in need of a good "time-out" ('scuse the pun) sessio... Read Full Review1 of 1 users found the following review helpful
Yes this really is a console game for the PC. But what game at present, and in the future...yes I'm looking at you "CoD4"... isn't (in the FPS genre anyway). The graphics are superb, though many players have h... Read Full Review1 of 2 users found the following review helpful
I've enjoyed this game immensly and find it great if you like games along the lines of "Oblivion". Graphics remind me of the visuals and atmosphere generated in the film "Children Of Men" with Cive Ow... Read Full Review1 of 3 users found the following review helpful
Air war in the Pacific? Tropical beaches, sparkling ocean? Lethal combat? Yeah! Gimme my mae west! What...I'm dead ????
Dynamix started it all with "Aces of the Pacific" + add-on. The gameplay was fast and furious. The choice of aircraft....well, choice! When you flew CAP over the carrier group and were sent to intercept a Japa... Read Full Review4 of 4 users found the following review helpful
I hesitated getting this game a long time having played "Road To Hill 30", & "Call of Duty" 1&2. But what really grabbed me was the skirmish mode. That IS a first. Now I picked up the game at ... Read Full Review1 of 1 users found the following review helpful
"Great Naval Battles" finally re-surfaces with a healthy dose of "1942" thrown in.
The nay-sayers for this game/sim are probably not old enough to remember the glory days of naval and aircraft simulator/games of the early nineties, but I'm not. "Great Naval Battles", a series that was loved b... Read Full Review3 of 4 users found the following review helpful
Having played the PC version I was looking forward to having a go at the ported version. There was no reason why, given the excellent gameplay and complex keyboard combos that this should not have adapted itself well to ... Read Full Review2 of 2 users found the following review helpful
I bought this game after reading several reviews on how terrific it was: graphically, a twist in gameplay tactics, etc, etc. One thing I learnt, or should have reminded myself of is...don't believe the hype. GRAPHICS:... Read Full Review3 of 6 users found the following review helpful
Gag! Codemasters made the claim that this game would not be overinvolved, and that it was not a puzzle-solving game, requiring you to save constantly. In fact, you will be saving as often as you would in a FPS. Which is... Read Full Review3 of 10 users found the following review helpful
"Actof War-Direct Action" threw you onto the urban battlefields with modern armies. No simplified generic rural townships dominating (as in "C&C Generals"), but easily recognized capital city-scap... Read Full Review1 of 2 users found the following review helpful
In a day where sims have diminished to becoming "action" or "arcade"" games, this one still stands high above the chaff. For many of us who, with P4's or PD's running XP, the days of "Harpoo... Read Full Review8 of 8 users found the following review helpful
Hella lot o' fun! Fun game, good graphics, easy to use interface. Blow 'em all to hell. But not a strategy game.
I have played "Blitzkrieg" (BK) many times. I haven't bothered with the expansions or releases like "Cuban Missile Crisis" (I have "People's General" for that). The original game, as I revie... Read Full Review0 of 1 users found the following review helpful
The demo looked great. Intense WWII action in different, more detailed locales, hectic action. So what happened?
I am a great fan of "Call of Duty" having survived the mawling I received in "MOHAA" and its' 2 expansion packs. Replaying the "MOH" series you realize just how diverse and varied your objec... Read Full Review1 of 2 users found the following review helpful
Oil prices out of control.Terrorism fueling the growing tension.War, what it is its' good for; absolutely...everything!!
I hesitated buying this game for over a year. I have "C&C Generals" + "Zero Hour" and couldn't really see, from the demo and screenshots, anything that would lead me to part my cash for what looke... Read Full Review2 of 3 users found the following review helpful
It's time to rummmmmmmbbbblllllllle!!! There are no PC wrestling games out there, so for bad or good, this stands out!!!

Vangelis, Oliver Stone, Colin Farrell. The ingredients for disaster? Maybe, but this game is actually quite good.
Unlike every "professional" review I've read on Websites or in magazines (one gave it a score of 2), I and other gamers as well, see much more in this game than they obviously can. I'll tackle each highlighted aspect by... Read Full Review1 of 2 users found the following review helpful
When I first played "RTW" I felt it actually wasn't better than "Medieval-Total War", in fact it was a step backward. I was looking forward to a 'Romanized' version of "MTW", not a 3D upgraded "Imperial Glory" kind of ga... Read Full Review4 of 4 users found the following review helpful
Whoa, who let the Germans into the steroids cabinet? If you enjoyed the TIME for strategy in "CoD", you're in trouble.
Where you were attacked by squads of Germans in "CoD", the expansion lets loose platoons (swarms, to be exact) of the enemy at you. Every engagement gets frantic fast, and the enemy AI is ruthless). Starting as it does ... Read Full Review1 of 1 users found the following review helpful
Space is the colour of burnt-orange. Your homeship is a boomarang. Space Opera only comes close to describing this game
Wing Commander started it all (for pc's at any rate) and the graphics were to die for. Everyone drooled over being a Luke Skywalker zipping around in 3-D space slicing the vacuum with laser bolts. After (or before for so... Read Full Review2 of 2 users found the following review helpful
Yeah, its' quite bland, and yeah, its' pretty simplistic in its' mission design. But it dumps all over "Soldiers: HOWW2"
Why does it better "Soldiers: Heroes Of World War II", a much lauded and enthused-over combat RTS? Because of the following: 1/ The colour pallette is no blander than "Soldiers". They're both as unexciting as a night ... Read Full Review2 of 2 users found the following review helpful
A funny thing happened on the way to the Forum (ahh...fortress?). The game you love to hate, loves & hates right back!!!

Liked "Full Spectrum Warrior" but hankered for more FPS action? Well you'd go for this game...unfortunately.
Great, I thought, playing a modern-day Marine Corps FPS. At the very least it wipe out the foul taste in my mouth from playing "Vietcong". I'd just finished reading "The March Up" by Brig. Gen. R.L.Smith & Bing West abou... Read Full Review2 of 2 users found the following review helpful
Ground Control II steps up to meet its' predecessor, loaded for bear & daring the player to think outside the box.
"Ground Control" was, & still is, a great action/strategy game, not quite fitting into the RTS realm as it spurns resource gathering ( a staple, yet quite often distracting element of the traditional RTS). "Dune" & "Empe... Read Full Review3 of 3 users found the following review helpful

MOHAA & CoD are payed a visit from Lucasarts, the result being a game that takes you back to the heyday of fun gaming.

How to go retro in games while going forward in real-world weapons platforms. Each new out by Sonalysts gets worse.
