Who the hell is this Fishpockets
The Nintendo/SEGA partnership with Sonic continues with Sonic Boom.
Sega has announced Sonic Boom, which it describes as "a new branch of the Sonic universe" encompassing a video game, new CG-animated TV series, and a range of toys. The game is launching this year for Wii U and 3DS.
Sonic Boom will be the third and final game released exclusively on Nintendo platforms, after the two companies signed a deal last year. The Wii U version of the game is being produced by new developer Big Red Button Entertainment, with Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time developer Sanzaru Games handling the 3DS version.
Sega says the game will feature traditional Sonic elements (speed) alongside exploration, combat, and a tethering mechanic. Sonic Boom, or at least the Wii U version, appears to be designed around 4-player cooperative play.
We spoke with a Sega producer about Sonic Boom, who said you shouldn't think of it as a Skylanders-style game because the toys don't integrate into the game like they do in Activision's title.
Frost also explained that the 3DS version is not a straight port of the Wii U iteration and that the game overall is similar in structure to Sonic Adventure, in that it'll feature a main hub and missions branching off that.
I'm still playing 3D World. I ended up grabbing The Wonderful 101 too since it was $34.99 finally here in Canada. My Wii U backlog grows even bigger now. Pikmin 3, Super Mario 3D World, The Wind Waker HD, The Wonderful 101, Toki Tori 2. Feburary 21st I'll be getting Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze too.
I'm holding off playing 3DS games for now since I'm going to send mine to Nintendo on the weekend for repairs. I'm really hoping this weekend isn't going to be too busy so I can actually get through Super Mario 3D World. I said this last week but I had too many things to do, plus when I get home from work I usually just lay down and end up knocking out by like 9PM. It sucks.
I finally got rid of my Samsung Galaxy S3. I've got the Sony Xperia Z, much better, I don't have to be tied to a wall to use my phone anymore.
Also trying to sell my S3 on Kijiji (like Craigslist) -- people keep trying to low ball me and it's annoying.
@roboccs: I'll let you know if I get anything out of it, it seems like it will be really interesting, so heres to hoping!
@Haziqonfire Your new pic is awesome. I'm really excited for DKCTF. It's one of two games that sold me on the Wii U, and while I've enjoyed the other games I've played on it, there's always that special excitement when THE game you've been hoping for gets released :D
Yeah I can't wait for it, especially after some of the latest footage. I wasn't big on it initially but it looks really good.
My quality of life is much improved by the new title of this thread.
And considering I enjoy games, I would like a company to keep within the industry. Is non-wearable health software really the direction you wish Nintendo to go in? I don't give a fuck about quality of life.
That stuff isn't really meant for you or me. The health market is huge and Nintendo wants to retain that success in some way. For the past 10 years they've wanted both the core and expanded markets, but haven't been able to cater to both successfully on one platform. This is their attempt at segregating the two and trying to be successful in both, if they can do it through acquiring companies focused on health, and without taking too many resources from core Nintendo teams, then I really don't care. It'll be a secondary income for them.
Also about this "Iwata being the problem, if you're supporting him you're a bad human being" doesn't really make sense coming from you Jason considering you've supported Microsoft under their terrible leadership, but that's not really appropriate for here.
