I have a Silver (not slimline) PS2, I've had it for 2 years, played thousands of games on it and it is still working fine.

 The only hard accesory 2 find is a silver memory card and a silver eyetoy, the rest is easy.  But if you are a greedy person... the silver controllers etc. are a bit (teensie weensie small amount) more expensive than the black.
