Actually I believe they bumped up enemy health by around 50%, but still, by the time you're in new game + it's an absolute cakewalk. What I did (and would recommend) is dismissing your two rented pawns, throwing your pawn off a cliff, and going the second playthrough solo. This also nets you double (ish) exp.
