Okay hearing that the design is not final, after looking at the 3DS, is anyone bothered by the bottom bit of the 3DS where the headphone jack is, it seems there is a bit of a step over instead of it being smooth. To me it looks like one of those metal pencil cases you get, I hope they get rid of that bit.

Yep, the DS will be fully backwards compatible, the 3DS uses similar cartridges but the capacity has been increased obviously, to 2GB I think for devs. When playing the DS games you won't be able to view them in 3D, cos the games have to be developed in 3D.

Even if the 3DS is near completion, whats to say that the games they need for launch are complete, they need some launch games and they may not be complete just yet.

Still using my little Phat. Until it dies, I'm not even thinking about another. If it does I may go with the XL. I don't like 3D. Gives me a headache.

You don't have to use 3D, you can turn it off if you want.
