a special screwdriver isn't required; that blue screw is just a horrid little s.o.b. i had plenty of trouble getting it out when i replaced the hd in my console too. i ended up using an eyeglass screwdriver pressing from the top with one hand to keep it tight, then using a pair of pliers to turn it. pain in the butt, but i got it eventually. good luck

It's a requirement for good 3D.

that was my first thought. 3d needs it
backward compatibility (with ps3 games, don't really care about ps2) is the biggest thing for me. i don't want to buy a ps4 unless it can replace my ps3
out doing one of the most overrated rpgs of all time shouldn't be that hardelbert_b_23
i'm glad to see i'm not the only one on the planet who didn't much care for that game
my first was borderlands which was pretty easy (especially so if you have a friend to help get the dueling trophies).
my toughest i'd say was demon's souls. that was a bear to get
i was going to try for a free month when i bought my slim, but even the free month required a credit card. i've never put my credit card on my psn account, and i'm not going to (i only use psn cards).
I watch blu rays regularly on my ps3. That was a big bonus point with the system for me. I don't own very many, but netflix keeps me with plenty of blu rays to watch.jnjreams76
