I love games. Obviously, I'm here. But the fact is games don't stand the test of time real well, in general. Games are heavily reliant on tech. So just like a PC or a console or a TV, they become obsolete. They do have some saving graces. A good story can't be taken away. The Last of Us' gameplay may suck in 10 years, but there will be some value in the story & voice acting. And the simple, "casual" games hold up a little bit better, since they're not as reliant on graphics and gameplay innovation. That's why 2-D Mario is still fun after all these years. But the tradeoff is those simple games aren't generally something you want to immerse yourself in and play for 8 hours.

Yes. Mostly I'm looking forward to the GOTY edition, I'm a patient (and cheap) man.

I've been playing Watch Dogs lately, and enjoying it. A couple days ago I fired it up and found that all my skills were gone, my reputation gone, notoriety gone, all my notoriety bonuses (I had them all) gone, and all my money gone. I did have my mission progress and guns, somehow. I checked online, and apparently it has happened to a bunch of people, and all on the same day. A little further research showed that the same thing happened to even more people on June 2nd of last year. Coincidence? I doubt it.

Ubisoft actually got back to me, unlike most of the people with the same issue. They gave me something to try, uninstalling the game, deleting the save file, re-installing and downloading the save file from the server. Didn't work, so they basically said "oh well, corrupt save file, nothing we can do". Clearly it's deeper than that, since it's hitting so many people at the same time. I know WD isn't high on Ubi's priority list any more, but to sweep this under the rug is pathetic. This is a pretty big, game killing bug.

So my questions are, to anyone out there:

1) Has this happened to you, either last year or this year? And if so, did you have a solution or get any help from Ubi?

2) Any GS editors interested in doing a short news article on this? Again, I know WD isn't on most people's radars right now, but Ubisoft is. And other than scattered forum posts and a couple articles from when this happened last year, there hasn't been any coverage. It could come in handy for those who have yet to buy the game, so they are forewarned.

3) Would anyone who hasn't played WD in a while be willing to turn it on and see if it's happened to you? I'm curious how widespread the problem is. A found a dozen or so people who have actually acknowledged it, but that's probably a very small percentage of people it actually happened to.

Anyway, I don't plan on EVER buying another Ubisoft game if this isn't fixed. Am I making too much of this? It probably wouldn't bother me if this was a crappy game I was ready to be done with anyway. I know, lots of people think WD is a crappy game, but I liked it. Not enough to start over from scratch because of half-a**ed development, but I liked it.

Nintendo slapped some analog sticks, buttons, and a touchscreen on their Balance Board? Genius!

My prediction to how the Packers would win, hit pretty much dead on! I am happy to see the Steelers lose, I really am. Glad I won't be hearing, "IS BIG BEN ON THE SAME LEVEL AS BEN ROETHLISBERGER?Mister__Awesome

Heh, aren't they one and the same?

Good for the Packers, Aaron Rodgers especially deserved the win. Turnovers destroyed the Steelers, but at least they made a game out of it. I was disgusted when it was 21-3.

I believe the weakness for the Steelers in the pass, look at how the Patriots torched them. I see Aaron Rodgers playing lights out en route to a Packers SB win with A-Rod becoming the MVPMister__Awesome

That is definitely their most vulnerable spot. I'm really not sold on the Packers' run, and if any team can make it completely irrelevent it's the Steelers. The Steelers should be able to make the Packers' offense one-dimensional. That could be very good, but it could also be bad. I'd much prefer it if the Steelers' had a strong secondary so they could force GB to run. Forcing Rodgers to throw could be exactly what the Steelers don't want.

Of course I'm going with the Steelers here. I think their defense will have a big game, but without any real standouts. Polamalu will be effective, but he hasn't been making many big plays, I think he may still be less than 100%. Ben will do what he does and find ways to get the job done, but likely not put up big numbers. I see the Steelers relying heavily on the run. MVP to Mendenhall.

Lots of teams clinch berths when another team loses. The Jets were in that position because they played really well early in the season. It's not like anyone rolled over for them, like the Colts did last year by resting their starters. I don't like the Jets, and I would have been glad to see them lose even if I wasn't a Steelers fan. But they deserved to get to where they were.
