I doubt that DX10 will ever work on XP. DX10 is the only reason why gamers would have to buy Vista, and even that "SUPERB DX10" isn't working as Microsoft told us... So far, DX10 games aren't so much different from themselves in DX9 rendering... Maybe Crysis changes something and sets up some DX10 games standards, but remember that the first Crysis trailers were recorded on GeForce 7 series GPUs and in DX9 render. And we can all agree that Crysis looked awsome in thoes first trailers on DX9... And these new trailers are on DX10 GPUs and in DX10 render... You can't really tell the difference, can you ?! Maybe you can if you watch the screenshots of the same frame VERY carefuly over and over...

I'm dissapointed with this new API, but I'm sure hoping that it will improve over time... As for me and DX10 gaming, just give me UT3 and my 8800GTS and we are square... It will run on highest settings and in DX10 render. Although, even Mark Rein isn't very optimistic on this new API and isn't talking about it so much as Crysis developers... He likes their new game on DX9 and DX10 render... It doesn't matter... In their new UT game they have DX10 support, but it isn't that extreme and won't cut down you frames for 50% like in future DX10 games. In some way, you can compare it with Bioshock - it looks better with DX10 render ( textures on the first place ), but isn't cutting the frames down do 50% like in CoH... At the end, it is the same engine... The best ever - UE3. For info - Tim Sweeney is developing UE4 on his own...

You know, games aren't just the graphics... UT3 confirms that... The look of UT2004 and feeling of UT99. The classic remake which will bring UT to the stars once again...

As for Microsoft, they were always strange sort of peeps... I hope I cleared some things...

For me on cracked activation on Vista DX10 games run fine... But you'll never know how they would look on legit ccopy of OS... But they say that they saw a little difference beetwen DX10 on legit and non-legit versions of Vista...

Well, I'll never know since I'll never have a legit copy of Vista... It's too expensive...

It wasn't on web page. I heard that in chat with one men whom I believe. He is an editor of one PC Games magazine here in Croatia. He claims that in their editor's office they noticed that in certain games with high requirments in DX10 on pirat activated Vista they noticet a little difference from the DX10 on the legal version. They played Crysis beta... It may be only rumor or the fact that they hate Microsoft so they want to curse and drown them...

Hey Every1 !

I wanted to start off one discussion over Vista and its DX10. I've headr from reliable resources that DX10 features on non-activated Vista are cut down and people may have some problems and limitations on Vista which isn't activated.

For that I mean that thoes who can't afford Vista and they install and activate Vista by illegal methodes are limited in their game experience. Of course, Microsoft denies that, but problems with non-activated Vista are here and are real...

It seems that when you activate Vista legally you have some DX10 features enabled which aren't enabled in the try-off trial version...

It ain't that we don't want to buy Vista, but it is simply too expensive and we only want to play our favourite DX10 games. It ain't that we want to robb Microsoft. A lot of people would be glad to have the original and legally activated Vista. But here in Croatia it is just too expensive...

So, I call you to answer... Do you think that Microsoft is having some unknown methodes of stoping pirates to copy their products, although he doesn't claim that ? If that's the case, then Microsoft doesn't know what he is doing... Limiting the product isn't the way of doing that ! Maybe someone can't afford their products but just want to enjoy it ! So... Either cut that methodes of limiting non-activated products or lower their price !
