My second monthly blog post... yay!

I'm sorry it's really late, but this week and last I have been scraping through my finals at college, and even though I have completely messed them all up I'm glad there over and done with :P

I wanted to get round to doing this several days ago but I made the mistake of going to the blood donor's even though I was exhausted, and for the first time "at the blood donor's" I almost fainted, and it was kind of scary having about 10 nurses and a doctor rushing around trying to help me
I have spent the past few days literally being sick and dying of the flew... but I know it's no excuse, so I'm sorry...

Anyhoo without further ado...

This months buys have been brought to you by several bottles of Bacardi & Sambuca a couple of tubs of cookie dough ice cream and several severe beating from my brothers and sister

Same story with this really... Me and my brother wanted the game so I had the idea of getting the Special Edition, admittedly not the smartest idea I have had...

Gaming Progress:

Rock Band Rock Band (Xbox 360)

Time spent: 14 hours

Even though I have only been playing the guitar on this game (and loving it)
My sister has been hogging the mic while she can and my brother has been turning Into
Animal off
the Muppets on the drums. It's an awesome game and when you can actually get 4 people to play togeather at the same time it turns into something much more than you can put down in words. I still don't agree with the price tag it has been given over here, but if your lucky or just feel like splashing out on something you won't be able to put down, then by all means go for it.

Neverwinter Nights 2 Neverwinter Nights 2 (PC)

Time spent: 2 hours

I admit that I haven't spent as much time on this game as it deserves but now that college is over and done with, that is something that I might be able to rectify.
I enjoyed what time I have spent on it, it's just that it does really require all your time to play through all of the little side quests and the main story of the game itself.

Lost OdysseyLost Odyssey (Xbox 360)

Time spent: 3 hours

This has kind of been following the same story as Neverwinter Nights as in, that I have been neglecting this game and not putting in the time it really deserves. I like the story, as much as I have seen that is and the characters are great, along with the graphics, even though one of them is annoying. This is one of the games I hope I can actually get time to sit down and play sometime soon :P

Grand Theft Auto IVGrand Theft Auto IV (Xbox 360)

Time spent: 32 hours

This is the game that I have been spending the most time with so far... and can you blame me :P
I was against this game since before it came out, I don't really know why but I have never really liked the GTA series and was sceptical about this one as well... but I can safly say without a shadow of a dout that this has changed my mind.
With all the things going on around you in Liberty City it's hard not to get distracted and just watch the time go by, spending time going out on dates, bowling, playing pool, playing on arcade machines, drinking, internet cafes, darts and not to forget those peskey little flying rats are just some of the things that get you distracted from the missions your actually supossed to be doing :P
With so many things going on I have only completed around 30% of the game, but my brother flew through it and said it was great... I just hope he doesn't spoil the ending for me.

And for a personal...

Question of the Month
What do you do if you really love someone,
and even if they only want to be friends your happy,
but then they stop talking to you...?

I guess that's it for another month...

I'm now going to curl up in bed with a nice cup of hot chocolate and watch some of those films/tv series untill I feel well enough to stand on my feet again...

and if you got this far don't forget, for much better monthly blog's don't forget to see The Monthly Blog Union

Thanks for reading :)
Stay happy & well everybody

April 2008

As promised in my last blog (but I only just scraped it together)... this is my first, so try and go easy on me :P

Although I have bought games this month I just haven't had any time to play them. I know it's bad and I don't really have an excuse but things with the person mentioned in my last blog haven't really got any better which really, really sucks... plus I think I might have made things worse with her yet again

And like that certain person I'm sadly playing the "Real Life Saga"...
The only games I have really played this month are Mario Kart and Guitar Hero which is bad. It is down to the fact that I have had lots and lots of coursework, essays, exam preparation and actual exams in college. My out of prison time is taken up by the other prison that is Morrisons. I have taken up working 32hours a week in the hell hole, working for less than minimum wage, working my ass off while my manager does sweet f' a...

Although it has funded the things I bought this month so I can't complain too much :P
It has also supplied me with another spare time eater, which involves getting drag to party's, pubs and clubs with people from work.

This has also led to making things a whole lot worse, as I found out last week... I only got about 4hours sleep the whole week and had college and work, after being out the night before getting drunk on a friends 21st, which I found out the hard way, was a really bad idea when I actually fainted for the first time in my life...

Anyhoo,

New Acquisitions:

32" Samsung HD LCD Television

Xbox 360

Wii

Playstation 3

Playstion 2

DS

PSP

Gaming Progress:

What little I have managed to play of it, I'm currently stuck on the boss battle against Slash on expert but have worked through co-op with my brother and his girlfriend to unlock all the songs in the game :)

I played it for only an hour or so with my brother. Wish I played it for longer because I love it so :P
Steering with the wheel was a bit funny to begin with but once you get used to it's a lot of fun.

So it's back to being a slave to the grind... that is the "Real Life Saga".

I wonder if I can actually make it to finishing college and doing something I want to do...

Love, Life, Games and Me

I am finally making my first post on this thing after 2 years :)

To shed some light on who I am, my name is Gareth but most people just call me furby. I'm 20 years old, I'm from Manchester, England and currently in college going nowhere (kidding)... I hope to go on to study Forensic Science and then who knows... I'm 5'8 part Welsh, German, Spanish, Finnish and of course English, dark brown hair, eyes that people can't decide whether there green or blue (I'm not sure either). I'm a nice person even if I seem pretty shy but you just have to get to know me, if you do you will find out I'm really not that shy at all, I guess it's just one of my many poor defences...

I'm the youngest of 4 (two brothers and a sister who some of you might know seeing as I stole this profile) we all have our forte for different genres mine being FPS and RPG's the next older person being one of my brothers who plays Sports and Racing games, my sister who kicks ass at Fighting and Platform games and the oldest of us all my other brother who is only really good at Strategy games (makes sense seeing as he has been in the army for over 20 years but at the same time not because he is crap at FPS).

I love games of course and I have been playing since before I could walk thanks to my sister and brothers, the first games I ever played were on the Commodore 64 with a little help from my brother and sister to play games such as Ghostbusters and Paperboy up until the point I spilt my juice on it and broke it ... The console I really got into playing games by myself was the NES which is were my gaming life really took off. The total amount of games that we own is unknown as it has been split up into five houses and is constantly changing hands.

I love drawing and in school I had the dream of working in games design but things change and for better or worse, it's something I would still like to do but I guess I will just have to see where life takes me.

Another love in my life is music which consists of anything rock and metal. Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Bon Jovi, Nightwish, After forever, Aerosmith to name a few (slowly being shown here). I guess I have my brother to blame for my taste in metal from all the trips in the car with things such as Iron Maiden blaring out of the car stereo at full blast (which was so awesome).

Movies are pretty much anything good, with more of a taste for horror. When I get time to watch the box it's mainly comedy, sci-fi and crime dramas. When I read it's mainly whatever I can get my hands on but it usually involves crime and fantasy.

A lot of things have happened over the past week that have made me think a lot about life in general. I passed my driving test (finally) giving me even more freedom that I don't need at this time, I passed two big exams in college, found out my older brother and his wife are having another baby :) which I guess it means I'm 3x the uncle that I was before... I found myself a part time job again even though it's only working at Morrisons, guess it's better than nothing and it also means I will have money to use on my favourite things (music, films, books and of course one of them being games) and of course the people in my life.

I guess the reason why I'm finally starting to use this thing is because of somebody here on gamespot... I know this isn't the right thing to do and is something I will probable end up being slapped for but if that person is out there and does read this, I just want to say I'm sorry for everything and if you don't want to talk to me again I can understand why (even though it's messed up) you are doing it... I know you sent a reply but I didn't get it so how am I supposed to know what's wrong if you don't tell me... I want to thank you for giving me the kick up the backside that I needed

Anyhow I hope this is the first of many and I would like to start a monthly blog, makes more sense seeing as everything in life and just playing games takes up almost all of my time.

That's pretty much all your getting out of me at this moment in time, if there is anything you want to know don't be afraid to ask (I don't bite  ) If your on myspace you can find me here and feel free to add me to your friends list here or any of my other profiles. I'm sorry if that was too much but it's out of the way now :P

Hope life is treating you all well :)
