My rule of thumb, as well as others. If you can get it on PC then that's the system to get it on. If not then get it on the PS3.

lowkey254

That is a simple concept and it makes a ton of sense! That's pretty much what I have been doing with the mass effect series. (my current PC was acutally upgraded specifically for Mass Effect 2 and it ran brilliantly). Thanks for that.

Based everything else I've heard too, I think I will get it on PC. It sounds like the way to go.

Thanks for all of the input from everyone. Hopefully this thread helps some other people out too.

[QUOTE="Blabadon"]C'mon Scobie-Wan Kenobi, there's a sticky on top. :?Blabadon

Uh oh...did I do something wrong? (I'm asking this question seriously btw)

Nothing terrible man, you're good. Usually when a game is really hyped, ex. Deus Ex 3, someone makes a hype thread for it. This thread is then stickied on the top of the System Wars forum so people don't make continuous topics about said game and keep it in said sticky. So you did nothing too bad, it's just that the moderators would prefer you ask that question in the Deus Ex 3 hype thread instead of making a new topic. Sorry if I sounded insulting, you're level 20 so I thought you knew.

No you didn't sound insulting, I'm glad you told me, despite my GSlevel I don't actually use the forums too much. Next time I won't take any chances, I guess I should have posted this in the sticky thread...whoops, sorry GS.

I actually think this is bait, because I dont see why anyone would seriously ask this question. PC no doubt. Do alittle research instead of asking this question in SW of all places.

Advid-Gamer

I have done research, and the consensus is that the PC versiondefinitely hassuperior graphics...I get that, but unless it also has superior gameplay, I'd rather play it on a big HDTV with surround sound. That is why I am asking the question.Anyway, I appreciate your response even if you thought the question was ridiculous.

You do know that alot of people have there pc hooked to a hd tv and surround sound dont you? Mine is hooked up just like my consoles, hdmi cables and optic sound, dont act like pc gaming is all about a stuffy corner, thats your problem. PC version has way faster loading times thanks to a update, better graphics, better framerate.

You bring up an excellent point, maybe it's time I bring my PC downstairs into theTV room (actually your description of "stuffy corner"isn't that far off...so I don't take any offence to that).

I am having ahard time deciding whether or not to get this game on PC or PS3. My PC can easily run the game (it scores about half way between the minimum requirments and recommended requirementson systemrequirementslab.com)so it's good but probably not good enough to take full advantage of DX11.0 graphics. (Windows Vista, NVIDEA GTS 250 1GB, CPU is a bitout of date but meets minimum requirements)

My biggest question is actually which is better in terms of controlling the gameplay, the mouse/keyboard or PS3 controller or is there any real difference? I know that some games like Dragon Age: Origins is vastly better with the PC interface, but is there any difference with Human Revolution? The gamespot review doesn't touch on this subject too much. Even if the PC versionhas technically better graphics, the big screenHDTV and surround sound my PS3 is hooked up to would probably easily make up for that anyway...so I am leaning towards the PS3 unless the PC version offers superior gameplay or loading times that are so improved that it makes for a much better experience (I noticed GS critisized the game for long loading times).

Any insightis greatly appreciated,

Wow thanks for all of the great responses, this information helps a lot. This is what I love about gamespot, you just can't get this kind of information walking into a gamestop store. :D

I am thinking aboutbuying Metal Gear Solid 4 because it has such amazing reviews. Thisisn't a genre I normally play, and I have never played any of the previous Metal Gear Solid games. Do you think someone new to the franchise can play MGS4 and understand what's going on and enjoy the game? Or would I be totally lost? I very much want to experience this game, but if I need to play the previous 3 in order to enjoyMGS4 than I might have to pass it up.

Thank you, I appreciate anyone's opinion on this if they are familiar with the series!

Oh and thanks for the suggestion Mailer_Daemon, I will try it in smooth mode...I didn't even know such a thing existed.
