I believe you are misusing the quote. He never said he raped her, but he is apologizing because that event lead to the "victim" and her family getting death threats from people. No_Hablo_Ingles
Not in the least. Like I said, it has subtext.

[QUOTE="-Halftime-"][QUOTE="frostybanana"]And for the record, even Kobe has admitted he raped the woman. "First, I want to apologize directly to the young woman involved in this incident. I want to apologize to her for my behavior that night and for the consequences she has suffered in the past year. Although this year has been incredibly difficult for me personally, I can only imagine the pain she has had to endure. I also want to apologize to her parents and family members, and to my family and friends and supporters, and to the citizens of Eagle, Colo. I also want to make it clear that I do not question the motives of this young woman. No money has been paid to this woman. She has agreed that this statement will not be used against me in the civil case. Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way I did. After months of reviewing discovery, listening to her attorney, and even her testimony in person, I now understand how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter. I issue this statement today fully aware that while one part of this case ends today, another remains. I understand that the civil case against me will go forward. That part of this case will be decided by and between the parties directly involved in the incident and will no longer be a financial or emotional drain on the citizens of the state of Colorado"

Where the hell in that did he admit he raped her? He admitted he had sex with her, and he maintained the whole time that he took the encounter as consensual.

He will not outright say I raped that woman. His comments have subtext, look at what he's saying. He said he can see how she saw it as rape. After some settles out of court and is not obligated to make a statement like that, his words tell the whole story. And if you can't understand that, you're delusional, I'm sorry.

[QUOTE="-Halftime-"]I don't understand how you take the victim seriously in that case, though. She was a paranoid schizophrenic. She planted pubic hair and semen in her underwear FROM another man when she went for a rape examination the day after the encounter happened. She changed her story 3 times. On top of that, the woman in question admitted that she lied about small details when she was first questioned. Like I said, totally compelling evidence. I guess it's rape EVERY time an athlete gets accused by some goldigging psycho, then?

You do understand that NONE of that is relevant, right? Because the matter was settled out of court. Meaning Kobe's lawyers felt that the accuser had enough evidence to win the case and the best course of action would be to settle out of court. You don't adamantly fight an accusation like that just to settle out of court later unless you're worried about losing the case. Kobe had sex with her, she had nothing to lie about. He then admitted that he can could see how she saw it as rape. That should tell you all you need to know. What more do you want him to do, tattoo I AM A RAPIST across his forehead?

[QUOTE="-Halftime-"] I admit I hate Steve Nash, where didn't I? I don't understand why people get butthurt. I don't get butthurt when people hate my team.

Butthurt isn't the word. I'm more fascinated than anything else because people like you truly confuse me. You hate a person you've never met for arbitrary reasons. Like I said, it doesn't make YOU look too good. I have my favorite players and I have players I don't like so much. But I can never hate someone I've never met because I don't know the strength of their character. But for people like Kobe who have giant egos and let fame and fortune go to their head, I can connect the dots. Even then, I don't hate him. Because, again, I've never met him. I don't understand people like you and I don't think I ever will.

Thanks for playing. Know what your talking about next time, maybe you won't look like a fool.-Halftime-
You should take your own advice. No one would settle out of court under those circumstances unless they were worried about being convicted. It would damage their image, that's why it's assumed that he did rape her. Again, these are the types of people you idolize? The fact that he was in the position in the first place should tell you something. Then you have the guy going around punching people and throwing temper tantrums when he doesn't get his way. And Nash is the crybaby? LAWL, ok, that's delusional if I've ever seen it.

[QUOTE="frostybanana"][QUOTE="-Halftime-"] I prefer winners, not people that get hipchecked into a scorers table and proceed to cry while their team gets walked on again to another exit in the playoffs-Halftime-

No no, you prefer people who rape other people and then throws money at all their problems to make them go away. Yeah I totally get that, real **** guys.

Because a false accusation from a whore who changed her story 4 times is totally rape. You must not have followed the case. I get it.

Yeah, obviously the ladies always a whore and the guy is never at fault. Kobe admitted to having sex with the woman and then settled before the case was ever brought to court. If he was innocent, that wouldn't have happened. So give me a break with that garbage. It's amazing how some people are so adamant in their devotion to these players that they completely refuse to acknowledge the wrongdoings they've done. That's what's really sad. So yeah, put your rapists on their pedestals and hate on people who don't deserve it, doesn't make you look too good if you ask me.

[QUOTE="-Halftime-"] Nash is the biggest defensive liability in the entire league. -Halftime-

Gross exaggeration, but you believe what you want.

It's nice to know you prefer guys who'll punch people in the mouth when they get rejected.

Nash didn't deserve either of those MVP's, that's commonly accepted. -Halftime-
That, alone, shows me your unwavering bias against Steve Nash. Bringing up his MVPs and attempting to discredit them by insinuating some sort of conspiracy is just plain ridiculous. MVPs are always like that, every single year. But they're still accomplishments and Nash did it twice whether you like it or not. Not sure what you're problem with Nash is, but you've definitely got a problem with him. It's a shame that so much energy goes into hating such a low key guy who doesn't showboat, doesn't trash talk, play dirty or commit felonies outside the game like so many of your so called idols in the NBA. He's a classy guy who plays the game with respect and plays at a very high level even to this day. He lead his team in scoring and led the league in assists, yeah he's REAL overrated . So I'll take a stand up guy like Steve anyday to some of the clowns that play in the NBA. And no he doesn't have rings, but neither does Stockton or the mailman and they were still some of the best players in the NBA.
