MrEmpirical: Welcome to TUGOWU. If you feel you have some creative challenges to put forth, (CotG/CotT-ish) have some boss/weapon/spell ideas or just have some tactics you would like to submit/discuss then you will find we have threads for those topics. I've been trying to get the ball rolling for some of these topics but I need at least one person who is willing/capable to make CotT (creative) and challenges suited to the limits offered in Arena of the Fates (I call these "Challenge of the Fates")

Though it is unfinished, you'll find my GoWII Tactics/Tips thread quite full of information. If you would like to discuss what I've written or add some of your own to discuss/add..by all means.

AIG: It isn't easy being GodModeGOD (Senior Officer)..I'm pretty much the lone editor/updater around here so my memory falters or my motivation wanes with my mood. (with no one to pick up my slack)

forsaken_elf:You are in the middle-end ofyour GoW God Mode NUR..from there you intend to backtrack?

[QUOTE="abaddononion2"]

Hey creeper. Sorry for the belated response. Anyway:

GoW1 Spartan Mode NUR

GoW1 God Mode NUR+ to clone battle (cant beat clones... Shinobier's a freakin wizard). The thing that Im proudest about in this run is that I A. Didnt use homerun techniques (didnt know them... 12 Hades Satyrs were hard.....) and B. Didnt skip ANY optional fights (Cerberuses on the roof of Architect's tomb... guh).

No Homerun techniques?..Neither did I for all my previous NURs before running into them. I'm aware of the Hades Satyr challenge and how hard it is without them..I made use of all 4 chests to make it as easy and quick as possible. No reason to skip fights if you haven't beaten it to completion at least once amirite? After it got to where I breezed through the runs, I would skip any fights I had no business doing so I could do what I was running for..usual to test something. *I rarely bothered with saves so If I needed to do something in the middle of the game I'd have to do another playthrough*

GoW2 God Mode NUR.

GoW2 Titan Mode NUR

GoW2 Titan Mode NUR+

GoW2 GK:TM:NUR - pending. I started it... but then moved onto other games. Short attention span. It's a miracle I got in as many runs as I did. ^_^

It is an interesting run once you get a little ways into it..I'd say by the time you get to the BK it starts to appeal..it is the Endurance Run that really makes it worth your while..if you were not a master of collisions and exploiting before..you would be by the end of the GK:TM:NUR. I use it is a way to make alternate Orion's Harpoon more appealing to first time learners as the collision damage they cause is massive plus it adds a new element if they had already done a TM:NUR/NUR+ without knowledge of it.

I think that's everything to speak of... I havent tried any "no magic" runs or anything. I *kinda* did a NUR/NCR on GoW1 at one point... but I think I only started it like halfway through, and I cant remember if I *really* stuck to it through the end, so Im not comfortable claiming it. I might do it again at some point, and make sure Im strict about it. Might could call it pending. ^_^

the-creeper

I've added the information.

~Onward

yeah i noticed everyone has multi lvl NUR's so i figured when i finish mt GM:NUR i would back track to do it again on the lower lvls just to get it out the way. It should be np since id be going backwards into easier lvls

Ok now lemme recap incase anyone forgot where im at. My last issue wsa that i had a bad run in my GM:NUR. I accicdently saved with no health what so ever, wind blowing would kill me lol. I am fighting the amored minataur boss. Now do to a job change i havnt had the chance to play my game much. Last few days i hopped back in and i found a great tactical groove with him. I get past level one and two with out taking any damage what so ever. After the second level i use the double pull to skip past the armor level. Now the sad part is im going into the final level with full health and magic and im getting my ass handed to me :( . So if there is any advicve or tactical advange to the last level of this guy by all means let me know. Im getting really tired of dying and doing this over :( im going nuts!!

Then victory will soon be yours. You aren't employing the Sweet Spot as you should be for that portion of the fight. Everything is ready for you. My fight with the Minotaur Boss *bad quality* was to give some reference for how I handle things. My Sweet Spot just shows where to be for easy victory. Shinobier's fight is mainly in that Spot..though I do not encourage only using it as it slows/dulls the fight.

i never thought to use the other sword. I run only with the blades of chaos. Switching to the other blade definately help ionflict more damage. Now the only issue now is that the damn sweet spot doesnt seem to work for me. I stand where you fuys stand in your videos and i either get clapped to death or eaten and spit out :(

You aren't in the right spot then. It is between the laucnher and the Bosses left hand. (from his shoulder blade to just before his fist) You must be up close to him and at farthest a medium distance. Watch carefully where I sit still (back when I made the video in frustration to Evan's inability to find it) or watch the small space Shinobier refuses to attack outside of. THAT is where you must be. The only animation he does is a roar, twist and hand clp. The attack WILL NOT HIT YOU so long as you do not leave that spot. It attacks the area nearest the staircase.

~As for not using Artemis...isn't that a bid odd you think? Artemis lvl1 is far stronger then BoC level 1 and has the Homerun techniques...have you not been practicing those? I could have sworn I introduced you and your wife to the tricks I use with that cumbersome blade...without these tricks I don't think Artemis would have ever ascended to anything more then a weapon used for fun on Easy w/ Ares Armor. You've seen my CotG videos and Homerun vids amirite? It is important for you to master these for when you get to the 11 Hades Satyrs fight much later on..."Punt" tears them apart.

*UPDATE*

I finally beat em. I was my mistake with the sweet spot. I was standing in the right place but if i didnt initiate the attack on his right hand he would come at me. Any way i used my tatics for lvl 1 with BoC. Lvl 2 i used a combo of BoC for distance from his flame punch and Artemis for up close when he would spit lava. Used the double level pull to by pass his armor and then used Artemis in the sweet spot and that was that.

I know that artemis is a stronger weapon but i find the game ALOT easier atleast ot me using BoC. I did see the videos of the punt in hades. I'll be sure to use it when i get there, But as for now i will stick with BoC its what works for me.

*Update*

Ok check this out. I had a bad run and was low on health. I then like a freaking idiot save the game  with the low health. So now this is my situation. I am fighting the minataur boss and i have about a quarter of health, 1 hit and i die. Now here is the delema. I cant beat him down up until the first log smash i get em with. after that i always manage to get hit once and die. I havent tried the sweet spot or double pull yet. Imma try that later today and let you know if it helped. Any other helpful hints out of this jam would be nice

thanks

How did I know you were going to be the one to ask...

Call it instinct..

Ok.. My very first xbox game was Halo - I've been in love with it ever since it came out, I then found a t-shirt saying "Yes, you've just been fragged by a CHICK!" (the funny haha cuz there arn't that many girl gamers) So I started thinking of sum kind of extension of my FPS persona, thought maybe something with Frag in it but then I started thinking of the other games I play, GoW, PoP, Marvel, Eragon, Guild Wars so I couldn't just leave my gamertag to strickly FPS.

The first I played was Dead or Alive. The first I truely liked was Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay.

So the first thought was Death Myst - Myst being a nickname - Using it as a PuN here, saying I am a death myst (mist), that was taken, so different ideas started getting thrown around. Started thinkin, Im not a fully evolved gamer, I am still working on it, but I think I am at my peek because I have become so diverse in my gaming choices, so Ascend, Ascending, Ascended came to mind.. I started doing searchs on Google for various names, Ascended Death, Ascended Dark Myst, Ascended Death Myst, found a few websites explaining some of these, and results were all refering to Moses Ascending the mountain thru the mist, one was about Romans and a Darke (thats where the spelling came from) Myst coming.

Getting closer..

After some word play so that my name wouldn't be to long, it ended with Darke Ascension.

But that doesn't explain the "e" in "Darke".

It not only sounds cool, but I am a dark or (death) in games, killing anything and destroying all in my path. I am an ascended gamer hence the Ascension and it will also fit later on when I am a fully ascended gamer, Darke Ascension (Death Rising)

I'd understand Dark Ascension fairly easy but Darke Ascension was a bit perplexing..why the "e" unless "Dark" had been taken.

**EDIT** I've added this to my blog in case anyone else asks.. LOL

AuthItalynGyrl

Rick Roll'd

see above in BOLD.. plus.. Darke was much more original the just plain old Dark.. and I must be an original...

Lol @ you explaining the tag. Well the explanation is well thought out and i already told you i think the tag is kewl. I like the (death Rising) caption you through in there.

Well for anyone who wants to add my live tag too its same as on here just minus the underscore. Forsaken Elf

See ya online ;)

Those are some craptastic glitches. At least you overcame them. Soon you'll be battling Spike Minotaurs. No big deal. The Boss Minotaur is a joke. I trust you know of the "Double Lever Pull" and "Sweet Spot"..if not I'll have to tell you about them. Or you can visit my YouTube account (BigVEE) and check out my videos about it.

the-creeper

Nope i dont know the "double lever pull" or the "sweet spot". The first time aroun i nailed em in the chest with the lightning bolts when i saw the openings. Other than that i just timed my combos to hit him at a distance with out getting me to close to take dmg. So by all means enlighten me ;)

*Update*

OK i had the worse freaking night of GOW ever! I got glitched to hell on the part where you do hades blood test and have to kill those horse guys in the circle. Well each kill i did on the circle wasnt counting. Then after a few deaths, the damn game starting showing O prompt over people that werent weak. When i went to grab em they just blocked over and over even though the O prompt was still there. So after many many deaths i was so pissed off i just said screw it and turned it off. Today i loaded up my game again and when i got to them this time the glitching finally stopped thank god. Then it just came to be finding a groove with them. I stop playing right when you turn the statues head to send a burst of light down the hallway where the flaming boulders are waiting for ya.

Good call. Have you practiced using an exploits? (aerial grapples/orion's harpoon *infinite*, homeruns, high jumps, etc.)

the-creeper

Yeah after i watched your vids i practiced alot of arial grapples *infinite*. I've gotten good at kicking off the combo, harpoon off the bounce and if anyone gets near i just into an arial grapple. The arial grapple cam inhandy with the damn 3 headed dogs. Bounce on em like a trampolean lol. I also practiced the extra high jump which came in handy a few times. I pulled off the arial madusa head just cuz like ya said its fun ;). Im definately honing my skills, Im doing better on some of these parts in the NUR they i did in my first run :D

Excellent. You've gotten good with air grapples and primary Orion's Harpoon. (there is a secondary in GoWII) Even the High Jump. Mastering Petrification magic makes for some good times. I suggest you try learning the "Homerun" techniques soon. Shinobier did exceptionally well with "Punt" (1 of the 3) at the Hades Satyr Gauntlet. (11 Satyrs in Hades in a row) It will aid you greatly in a NUR/NUR+

I juat watched the homerun vid and the punt. That looked kewl, gonna give that a try. The pruple sword never really got any burn with me lol. Guess thats gonna change ;)
