Metroid might just save the WiiU

No chance. Aside from the original Metroid and Metroid Prime, none of the games in the series have even broke the 2 million mark. It's sad because the series is so good, but clearly it isn't for everyone. Metroid has as much a chance of saving the Wii U as Pikmin did.

I just hope Nintendo has learned a lesson from this and will make their next effort more 3rd party friendly.

That's not what Nintendo needs to do. Third party games don't sell on Nintendo consoles... they just don't have the audience for those multi plat games and most won't bother to create Nintendo exclusive entries in a game series that most agree feels watered down (see RE: chronicles games)

What they need to do is focus on their games. They desperately need to expand their departments so they can get more games out in a timely manner without a dip in quality. They need to get new blood in so they can let go of some outdated conventions. And finally... they need to learn how to market their products.

I just replayed Prime 1 earlier this year and was surprised at how well it still holds up. Retro created a really solid game... it's too bad most of the people from that company have moved on. I was thrilled when they came out with the trilogy wii version... seriously the wii's orange box. I wish we could get some sort of news on Metroid Wii U now...... I'll be so disappointed if Metroid gets overlooked at E3 2014

same here. No matter what images I try or how small I resize, it just says fails to upload. I've only tried uploading from my computer, maybe I'll try using the image location from a website.

holy hell this game is so magical. what great memories from childhood. I like to think this started my interest in gaming or at least planted the seed. I might have to go boot this up on the Wii ...

I honestly wouldn't mind this. What would be so bad about a Zelda or Mario title on another console? It would still be made by Nintendo. Then I wouldn't have to buy their console for the handful of (good) exclusive games that come out for it.

Hmm. I really like both but I feel like Metroid has been consistently better.

The last 3 Zeldas, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, and Skyward Sword have left me feeling not so great about the series. But when I think about games like Oot, MM, WW... those games are incredible and I played them when I was younger so they have that nostalgia working for them. But my final choice would have to go to Metroid. The Prime series is incredible, Super Metroid too, the handhelds are a lot of fun. I can't think of one truly bad Metroid

I just hope Nintendo doesn't decide to ditch Metroid for another 8 years because of this game's sales

I would be thrilled if Retro was working on Metroid. I just hope Nintendo doesn't shelve the series for 8 years again due to Other M's disappointing sales.

Yes, but I'll be buying it for the first time since I don't own a 3DS (or a Wii U). It looks like a good game
