If i were as optimistic about the Japanese PC gaming scene as i was when Tales of Zestiria and Disgaea 1 game out on Steam, I'd probably be operating under the misconception that the Taiko no Tatsujin devs actually give a shit about PC gaming. For those unfamiliar, they also made Gundam Extreme VS MAXI BOOST ON, which didn't get ported over complaints about Ace Combat 7 on Steam.
Think of it this way: It won't be a Switch Pro but rather a new console. Dunno if it'll still be on nVidia architecture considering the current ecosystem with gaming hardware
Rex Power Colt didn't need drugs to kick Sloan's ass in Blood Dragon. Even before the events of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, he made an oath to Lady Liberty: Winners Don't Do Drugs.
@daidochus: Japan will always hate PC gaming. At least Kingdom Hearts 3 and NEO: The World Ends With You gives some reassurance that someone's willing to bribe a Japanese game developer into porting their games to a system that they really don't like.
Seems like the PC port of Kingdom Hearts 3 is getting a fair chunk of traction despite people's disagreements with the Epic Store. With some hope, maybe their supposed burning of money could instead target Japanese game companies cuz I feel like such briberies will be the only thing telling them to even make PC games at all, if i'm honest.
I have my disagreements with the Epic Store myself, but I can also acknowledge that there's such a thing called a necessary evil.
Somehow, i can see an "Upgrade to current gen" package for first-party games like how Activision's Call of Duty: Ghosts had a $10 upgrade from PS3/XB360 to PS4/XB1. I can definitely see those upgrade purchases adding up in terms of money spent on game sales.
@Barighm:Thing is, AO games ARE legally sellable in Canada and the United States, it's just that most retailers will deny the sale of AO rated games due to their internal policies, not legal reasons. When legislation deems lootboxes to be gambling, then expect a lot of EA's games to have an AO rating.
Only place where I can see such games being sold are sex toy shops and adult video stores, and EA's current attitude with the lootbox debacle give off the impression that they're perfectly OK with selling their games in those markets since they still get to keep their lootboxes.
