Disappointed that online play requires a fee now. I'll tolerate it though.

And thus, suddenly everybody's fine with this because Sony's doing it. Sony did a lot of things right, but this negates all of it. The very idea that you have to pay extra to play a basic feature of a game you already paid full price for is laughable. Even Gamespot had an article demonising the practice. Now people don't care because they don't have to pay extra to borrow games WHICH LITERALLY EVERY OTHER CONSOLE HAS DONE BEFORE.

Is multiplayer still free? They seem to be pointing out all of these things that haven't changed since PS3 and I didn't catch if they said anything about multiplayer.

MarcRecon

You need PS+ for multiplayer on PS4.

Considering we had MP free all these years I can't be to mad at them for charging us this time around.

How does that make sense? There are no reasons for them to charge extra to be able to access half of your games features. They're taking something we've always had and hiding it away behind a paywall. This single thing alone is what made the 360 so useless for me most of the time. I don't play multiplayer on consoles anywhere near enough to justify a subscription that nets me no benefits over any game I can play online on PC or PS3.

Looks pretty cool. I'm a bit concerned about the shooting and hovering animations though. They look so much like the other inFamous games that this could just be a reskin. Thoughts?

This game needs more people to pledge so it can be as good as it can be! This is the second shot at this game and it's a crime that it's taken this long.

I've just found out about this game on Kickstarter called Topia Online, and it looks incredible. It's basically a top-down sprite-based MMORPG that's entirely player-run. You have to socialise with other players to advance. You can create your own buildings and survive from things in the world. Players can also create scripts for just about anything (although you're limited by what your actual character is capable of) including NPCs, NPC behaviour, items, spells, monsters, etc. People can actually threaten the world by controlling monsters and if the whole world is destroyed, a new one begins.

Anyway, no matter how much I waffle on, I won't be able to do the game justice, so check it out on Kickstarter! They also have their own website where you can even get familiar with basic gameplay concepts without paying.

This has stuff in it that I've wanted done well in an MMO for a long time.

I think Arkham City left the series in a good spot. Any more would just be milking it. I'm surprised they even revisited Arkham in the first place.

I'd personally be more interested in them doing another DC character next.

You're missing out. Mercer makes a great villain and Heller is indeed a badass.

I hope it gets better. I haven't been playing it at all recently because of how bored I got with it. I really want to like it but it does seem to lack any real substance. The class-specific storylines seem alright, but that's too small of a part of the game for me.
