One other thing to consider is that SLI does not double your vram. 2 x 8GB does not equal 16GB of vram. You still end up with 8GB of vram for the frames which are split across the GPUs.

I would lower the proc to i5 4690 to save some money and throw in an SSD. If your planning to game, you don't really need an i7. The SSD will give you a massive bump in perceivable performance, though.

I had the same problem. It was easily fixed by unplugging the xbox, holding the power button down for 5 seconds, plugging the power back in and turning it on. Simply resetting the machine did not work.

The funny thing was that this happened after I said "xbox, turn off" for the first time. Then it took a whole bunch of effort to turn it back on! Anyway, no problems since that hiccup.

ips displays have slow reponse times.osirisx3

Yes they do but my 6ms response time is not noticeable. And the image seems to pop a lot more. I love the bright, vivid colors and high viewing angle. That viewing angle is all the more important if you have 3 LCDs and are into widescreen gaming.

With regards to 60hz vs 120hz vs 240hz and especially dynamic contrast, there's a lot of tricks and games the manufacturers get into. They know the numbers sell panels, so they resort to all kinds of methods to getting their numbers. I wouldn't necessarily invest to much time in strict specs. I have three Asus PA238Q IPS panels. They are bright, look great at many angles, and I don't notice any problems in games. Previously, I had some Dell UltraSharp TN panels and as a website developer, found that colors I chose didn't always translate well. I blamed my LCDs for my color choices. I was really happy to find theses Asus panels which satisfied the work and play. They are 60hz and maximumpc put them in best of the best for mid range LCDs.

Depends on the rest, at 1920x1080 the 570s would smoke the single 670JigglyWiggly_

You know, it looks like you may be wrong. I've been testing out Far CRy 3 at 1920 x 1080 and on max with the GTX 670 4GB card, it runs about 40fps. But the VRAM hovers around 1.4GB, making performance suffer with the SLIed GTX 570s. Very suprising how this one card exceeds the two previous.

As for Far Cry 3 on 3 LCDs: I would need another 670, because it drops to around 10fps. So I'm playing that on one screen at 1920 x 1080. But Skyrim is insane on 3 screens with this setup.

Anyway, I hope all this info helps those with similar considerations.

grats on the downgrade

We'll see. I wasn't able to find a definitive answer anywhere. The SLIed evga SuperClocked GTX570s with 1.25GB each are better than one evga GTX 670 4GB FTW+ for sure on 1 LCD. But on a multi-mon setup (3 x 23" LCDs)? I think the VRAM of 4GB will make the difference when you're playing widescreen. I keep noticing the VRAM usage pegged at 100% in Skyrim. I'm looking forward to getting this answer set in stone once the card arrives tomorrow.

So I am pleased to say that 1 EVGA GTX 670 4GB FTW+ is better on 3 LCD (6026 x 1080 with bezel correction) than 2 SLIed EVGA GTX 570 1.25GB SuperClocked!!! The difference is clear: VRAM. When I hit certain areas in Skyrim on the GTX 570 SLI setup, my VRAM usage would be pegged at 100% and the game would stutter terribly. In other areas, it was fine at 60fps. But, most of the time, the mem was at 100% and every area with fire made the game difficult to play if you walked close to that light source.

I went to those same areas with the GTX 670 4GB and noticed the mem usage reach 2.5GB. NO STUTTERING!!! FPS would drop to 50 in areas with snow. Areas with fire: 60FPS!!! The game feels smooth as butter. It is also totally maxed out. Every setting is on ultra. With the GTX 570 SLI setup, I had a couple of things turned down to try and help in the stuttering areas.

Bottom line: one GTX 670 4GB FTW+ kicks the 570 SLI setup in ass. And it's quiet! I don't hear the fan and the temps haven't gone upwards of 55 C whereas before I could hit 90 C with fans blasting.

As far as the difference on 1 LCD: none. The SLIed GTX 570 were no different than the GTX 670. But for widescreen gaming on 3 LCDs you have to have a 4GB card, as far as I can tell and this one is the winner.
