Nah, the risk is the same only it lies on the studio buyer & we've seen Xbox close studios that underperform.
If you personally help fund a game with a "smaller studio" then that will truly lessen the risk for them, no need to purchase them.

Oh but of course Phil Spencer was against (Sony) exclusivity before all these buyouts, funny that he'd change his PR tune now.
