There's a very simple reason why the 3DS is a better handheld than the PS VITA. The PS VITA is trying to compete with the latest smartphones with all its technicall abilities and functions. And while that has resulted in a technically superior device it has forgotten what it's all about, THE GAMES.

The 3DS however focusses purely on the games and game related functions and will therefore always be the better handheld.

Just look at the PS VITA game lineup. They are all downgraded ports from existing console games. Why would i wan't to buy the game for the PS VITA, when i can get the superior original version on the console for the same price or less.

The PS VITA was doomed even before it launched.

This game really sucks. The graphics are so outdated that they would have still looked bad 10 years ago. AI is non-existent and there's loads of bugs and technical glitches.

Mass Effect trilogy

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim

Chromehounds

Call of Duty: Black Ops

Lol, PC gaming is just like the new PS VITA, all technical powerhouse without basic functionality.

From a technical standpoint it is probarly the best piece of hardware on the market at this point. Too bad that the functionality, marketing, and games are crap.

The game library consists entirely from downgraded console versions with the touch screen gimmick tacked on. The PS VITA itself is real clumpsy for a handheld and the menu screens and apps are complicated to use.

The system is also very expensive. With 1 game and a mandatory memory card the total puchase price lies between 350 and 400 euro's (350 if you get the WIFI only model and 400 if you get the 3G model). Damm, for half that price you can get a XBOX 360 or PS3 with 2 wireless controllers and 2 games. And as i mentioned before, you can play the original games on those wich haven't been downgraded for the PS VITA

In my opinion Sony was to busy to create a technical masterpiece that they forgot about everything else.
