Between PS3 and 360, they are both flawed. 360 of course has that god awful D-pad which at this point is totally inexcusable almost 6 years in. Yes, the silver controller with transformer D-pad is nice, but that should be the standard instead of having to pay $60 just to get a controller that isn't basically broken. It would be so easy for them to change it... I just don't get it. Also, you still have to buy and charge kit or batteries unlike PS3's USB charging built-in. Then with the PS3, the rear triggers are badly shaped, the should be shaped like 360's so your fingers don't slip. I also hate how Sony's analog pads are convex.instead of concave like 360's. I don't understand Sony's thinking on that... It seems like common sense concave is appropriate. Luckily you can buy those rubber grips that fit over them. One thing I don't like about any analog pads is how loose they are. I wish they all had more resistance to them. So many games feel too sensitive and twitchy to me with the analog aiming/control... and not all games give you the option to change the sensitivity. So I think it's a draw. Both have flaws that would be easily fixed.

Hooked my PS2 up and playing some of my old favorite games from back then,,,,, Zone of the Enders 2, Getting Up Contents Under Pressure, Midnight Club II, & Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne. It's been fun playing through these again. I still hope Sony makes PS3 backwards compatible some day.

When I look down at the controller, it doesn't say "SEGA" on it.

[QUOTE="dvader654"]OMG OMG OMG It looks like it plays just like Genesis Sonics!!! I dont see any of the weirdness of Sonic 4, it all looked right. They did it, Sega has finally did it, Genesis Sonic is back. Now lets see if the level design is up to par. As for 3D Sonic you guys have to realize that it is its own unique gameplay now, its not trying to be like classic Sonic. 3D sonic is about high scores, time attacks, and reflex heavy gameplay. That looked identical to Unleashed, it was practically a reskined Unleashed level. The good thing is that Unleashed was awesome so I see a ton of potential. Two gameplay mixes from two Sonics I love.

Well classic Sonic does uncurl after he is launched in the air which really bothers me... Otherwise yeah it's looking good. This is gonna be a long wait!!! If I find out they put Starlight Zone in, it's going to be even a longer wait for me.

HD Zone of the Enders man... it's time. And Jet Set Radio. Do Jet Set on PS3 and make Move an optional way to play the game.

After watching the extended footage, it's almost humorous how this game, by splitting it up into "classic" and "modern" sections, pretty much shows exactly why modern Sonic typically doesn't work, and how Sonic Team has completely missed the point of what made the classics so good.

Notice how the classic game isn't moving at an insane speed and is more methodical in its approach? Then notice how the modern version is pretty much the complete opposite. Despite the emphasis on "fast", classic Sonic games were never about going forward non-stop at incredible speeds, and in fact you were often punished for trying to do so. Somewhere along the line, though, Sonic Team got it in their head that this was what Sonic was about, and completely ignored the slower, more deliberate platforming aspects of the games.

Watching those two videos back to back never formed a clearer picture of where Sonic Team got off track. I'm still interested in the game for the redone classic stages, however...

Oh, and the music for the modern version is just bleh. I've heard plenty of modernized remixes of classic Sonic tunes, and none of them sounded as bad as that.

Yeah, I agree with everyone you said including the modern GHZ music... it could of been a lot better. As far as now being able to compare the two play styles side by side, that's something that a lot of people have been saying since the gameplay was shown. The contrast is really right there in your face now with this game. I hope that after this game comes out, user feedback and reviews will heavily slant in favor of classic gameplay and the classic Sonic model, then maybe brand new games in the future will be influenced in that direction.

Whatever it is, I'm glad it's for Nintendo HD/Project Cafe and not Wii. It's time Retro gets some more powerful hardware and HD to do their stuff. I'm sure they are happy about it.
